Wedding Nightmares

Crystal, on February 5, 2022 at 3:22 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6
So we toured 3 venues today (4 in total so far) and we finally decided on the one. It was a long tiring day since I worked overnight and we have been gone all day. I was so happy to finally find a venue so we could confirm our date and get the ball rolling.

I was finally able to get some sleep, and now all of a sudden I’m having wedding nightmares lol the planner didn’t show up, no one to put up decor, my makeup artist didn’t make it… what is going on?! Lol I thought the hard part was over 😅

    I had all kinds of wedding nightmares - forgot my dress, vendors not showing up, and on and on. It happens to everyone I've talked to - and unfortunately, you're likely to have them on and off until the wedding actually happens. Try to make sure you're taking some time (away from work/planning) for self-care and date nights - it will help.

    I had one particular dream where I got to the venue on my wedding day and "remembered" that I never booked a caterer, photographer, hair stylist, or DJ. My maid of honor dabbles in photography, so all day she was setting timers on her camera and running into the frame. My hair was down and frizzy like it always is, we had no reception at all without a caterer or DJ.

    I woke up *distraught* lol

    I haven’t had nightmares (that I can think of) but definitely quite a few restless/sleepless nights. Highly recommend making lists and only trying to accomplish/tackle so much each month. Take time to relax and enjoy your engagement.

    Trust me, it's totally normal. It's because things are becoming more real, and it's all running together in your head. In the weeks leading up to my wedding, I had some of the worst dreams! Here are just the ones I remember:

    - Our officiant got into a fight with our venue manager, and the officiant was thrown out, leaving no one to marry us;

    - My husband and I were driving to the wedding together, and upon arriving, it finally hit me that he'd already seen me in my dress, so I had to get another one. The one my bridesmaids brought me was a see-through mermaid gown which left nothing to the imagination. I called for one of my bridesmaids to ask her what that was, only to see that her dress was wrong, too! IRL, the bridesmaid dresses were sleeveless and navy blue. In the dream, they were peach with puffy sleeves. When the bridesmaids I called in couldn't answer to my dress, she called in my sister-in-law, who wasn't a bridesmaids IRL but was in the dream. She had the same peach dress.

    - My dad made my sisters and I walk to the wedding - in our dresses - over an overpass, AND he had to make a pit stop at Target.

    Thankfully, none of these actually happened, and our wedding was instead amazing! Yours will be, too. Smiley heart

    I am glad to know I am not the only one who has a wedding nightmare or even nightmare still lol.

    Mine was the other night, My MOH messed up my make (on propose), the venue changed the wedding to a group camp fire thing, and the car was changed to a old broken 1950's car that was all rusty.

    I started burning lavender candles and burning my sage in the house.
