Wedding October 2020

Steph, on March 18, 2020 at 9:21 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 27
My wedding is October 23, 2020. Does anyone think the cornona virus will be settled by then? I sent my save the dates yesterday. People probably think I’m crazy for sending them during the virus. I just hope people out of town still come after all of this. Anyone else getting married in October? Also when do you think this will all settle ?

Yes I think it'll be fine. They're saying in about 8 weeks everything will be normal. No stress. And honestly if I got a wedding invite during this time I think it'd make me feel happier in the sense that 1) you have something to look forward to and 2) it shows people are still moving on vs letting this craziness put a stop to everything

For sure! I know planning a wedding is stressful and now more so with all this virus talk. But keep your head up. Let's not let it ruin our whole year. ☺️

I’m also getting married in October. We are trying to keeping planning as normal. Things are changing daily at this rate so who knows what could happen a week or a month from now. Just trying to stay positive.

I think you will be fine! Our big day is the end of July and it sounds like, hopefully, this thing will be over by May. I also agree that getting an invitation in the mail would lift peoples spirits!

My wedding is October 3, 2020. We will not be rescheduling. Based upon how the virus was in China, we are looking at about 8 weeks until things start going back to normal if people listen to the precautions we are being told to take.

We're getting married the same weekend and nothing changing right now. I think things will be settled by summer at the latest. I'm keeping a positive attitude.

I Think Everything Will Be back To Normal Way Before October. Will Keep Planning As Normal And Stress When/If I Need To Closer To The Date.

I think you will be fine. I am so happy to see some positive people on this thread commenting. It makes me feel better that some are in the same mindset as I am; that this will start to get better in 8 weeks. It's been hard lately to plan things just because of the not negativity but the uncertainty right now.

I am also getting married in October (Oct. 3rd). I have been stressing out about this as well. I sent save the dates about three weeks ago. I’m getting mixed signals but I have been trying to prepare myself. I would love answers but it seems impossible to predict. I hope this is resolved soon!

I am also getting married on Saturday, October 3rd and am not feeling confident about how to proceed with planning. I have sent save the dates but have held off on ordering invitations. It might make sense to proceed with planning as usual until we have more information, but have heard mixed messages as well.

Hello! My wedding is on the same day as yours! This is a very unsettling time. I hear one thing one day and another thing the next so I dont know how to proceed. I would hope that everything is ok by then. My fiance and I already made back up plans just in case. Our venue already told us we could postpone if needed. I'm trying to stay as positive as I can. Sending positive vibes everyone's way ♥️

I’m supposed to get married in October on the 10th. We are planning a trip out to LA in September so that my fiancé can get sand from the beach he would always go as a kid. Our plan is mixing sand instead of the unity candle. May sand is from a beach on Lake Michigan where I would always go to as a kid. We have put over 3 years of planning into this. We were supposed to go to Cali in June but I moved it out to September hoping that we’ll be past this virus. We also have a cruise to the Bahamas booked in October for after the wedding so we go a lot on stake for it to be canceled or postponed. Fingers crossed and praying 🙏

I'm hoping the heat of summer will help. I'm the same weekend as you and still planning on having it. I'm not making any decisions until the summer.

My fiancé and I both work in healthcare in NYC, so we continue to feel uncertain. However, I think the best we can do right now is continue with planning and see where we are at the end of May/beginning of June! Do others plan to do something similar?

I’m doing the same, my seamstress told me she could start working on my dress as late as August. I’m just going to keep positive and tackle what I can, let May play out and see where things go come June....I’ll keep you all in my positivity thoughts!!!
