Wedding of my niece

Tomtomy, on May 23, 2021 at 10:42 AM Posted in Community Conversations 1 7

Hey guys,

I am so glad that finally after a very long time we as a family will be gathering again on the occasion of my niece's marriage. I am the one who is coordinating the whole event. I have contacted an event management team to organize the celebration. As we all know, we are living with a pandemic hit the world, it's very important to take care of necessary hygiene and social distancing. So I am planning to install a portable sink at the entrance with hand sanitizers to ensure the safety of our guests. Since the sink will be used only for the occasion and meant no use after that, I am planning to buy a used one. Please share your experience if anyone has tried it for any such wedding events.

I’m not sure that a sink is necessary if you providing hand sanitizer. Seems like it could get messy; splashing water, soap drips, paper towels, etc. I’d just place hand sanitizer throughout the venue, in high traffic areas, sign in table, bar, photo booth (if applicable), etc.

Agree with Lisa. Skip the sink and have lots of sanitizer on hand.

Those are available for rent from event companies. They will take care of filing, etc - which you want. Filling those with water can be a big pain!

The sink sounds like more hassle than it’s worth. Potential water creating slick floors, long line to use it to get into the venue, etc. Stick with hand sanitizers. Guests can use the sinks in the restrooms if they need to actually wash their hands.

One idea we did was have a decorated PPE table upon guests arrival to the ceremony with hand sanitizers and custom masks. Here are photos and hope this provides inspiration ❤️

Does it occur to folks that upwards of 10% of people are allergic to the non- alcohol ingredients of hand sanitizer. As one who is, a rented short term handwashing sink, or installed one, is wonderful.

Is this the only sink at the venue? Surely there are restrooms?
I would skip the sink and have a table of hand sanitizers for anyone who wants them.
