Wedding Officiant Proposal

Lisa, on November 2, 2018 at 12:21 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7

Just wondering if anyone else has done this - or what you think about this? We have a small bridal party (MOH, Best Man, 2 Ring Bearers, and 1 Flower Girl) - I did proposals for all of them (haven't given the kids theirs yet though) and they were just small "will you be..." (I added a picture - and they look bigger, but they are actually pretty tiny). Anyways we know we want our pastor to be our officiant, and I know he just waiting for us to ask (we have had a long engagement) - I wouldn't normally do this for an officiant, but we are very close to him, and so I kind of wanted to do some type of keepsake and I finally found something that I liked on etsy, that is appropriate and something I think he would like. I know I don't HAVE to do this lol but I want to...

I am just having trouble deciding what to put on the bookmark - in the picture it has initials, and I thought about doing ours and the date - but then I thought it would be kind of dumb, after the wedding? I personally am not a fan of bridal party gifts that are labeled with their title - because I know if I got a cup that said "bridesmaid" instead of my name, I probably wouldn't use it very much... So what do you think? Should I just put his name or initials, and then maybe some type of scripture? Or should I do our initials and date (as it is in the picture) and a scripture?

Could you just put his intials? Or your favorite bible verse # instead of the date? I love proposal boxes, they are so much fun to give and so much fun to get!

Yes - that is my question! Should I do ours and the date on the little circle ring, or should I just do his? Either way there will be a message or bible verse on the long part

I'd do his name and a bible verse or something. You want him to use it even after the wedding so I'd personalize it to him rather than to your wedding!

I would do his name/initials and the verse. Adding your date and initials may seem sentimental at the time, but if you really want him to continue using it, he would probably enjoy if more personalized to him. Great idea!

Lisa, I love your proposal boxes, simple but so cute!! I think the bookmark is a great idea, but totally understand what you mean about putting your wedding date on it. If you know of a verse he particularly likes maybe you could include that one!
