Wedding Officiants

We are in Denver and paid $250 for our officiant. He was a pastor.

See now that sounds way better than $500 lol. Even though you are in Denver, maybe I should price a pastor then. Thanks!

We got a ton of quotes, from $250-$1,000. The pastor we hired didn't do weddings a business, more a side job.

We're in NM and we paid $150 (half up front and half 2 weeks out before the wedding). Super reasonable. She also charges another $75 for a rehearsal, which would bring the total to $225, but we opted not to do it.

Your officiant isn't doing anything more than saying a few words and signing your paperwork. I would expect to pay $500 for caterers, photographers, etc. - people who are doing actual work for hours at a time. LMAO! But to get paid $500 for about 30 minutes of work is asinine. I'm angry for you, girl!

and you might find someone more reasonable. We did a Google search for
ours and she was the first to pop up, followed by a few more reasonably
priced officiants. So I'd suggest Google and scour this site to see what other women have said, or check that Vendors tab. Also try searching for officiants in nearby cities who will travel for a small fee. Absolutely run from whoever this person was that quoted you $500. Good luck!!

Yup! Our officiant has another job so this is just side money for her, which is likely why she was more affordable. On the plus side, she was also the highest rated in our area so that was a bonus!

LOL! Thaaaaank you! I thought I was the only one that was gonna think $500 was insane. I could absolutely use that money towards another vendor. Good thought on checking recommendations on the vendors tab. I honestly just picked someone random whose been to my venue before. Thanks so much again!!

I mean, for all I know, they're totally worth $500 and they do magic tricks and turn into a celebrity when they're done. But if not, it wouldn't be worth it for me! LOL!

We found ours for only $125, but the others in our area were anywhere from $400-$1000
