If you’re struggling with where to start your wedding planning journey, I would recommend you check out the Wedding Wire Checklist. All you have to do is tell it a little about your wedding (date, etc) and it will create customizable tasks for every stage of the planning journey. It displays tasks in chronological order leading up to your big day, so it’s a great blueprint for what to tackle next in the wedding planning. It’s super helpful!

One of the very first steps in planning a wedding is deciding on your wedding budget. Take some time to discuss this with your FS and decide what this will be. These articles from the WeddingWire ideas section have loads of information on what to consider when setting your budget and how to split it out:

Setting Up Your Wedding Budget - details key factors to bear in mind while building a wedding budget.

Wedding Budget Breakdown 101: How to Divide & Conquer - help figure out what percentage of your total wedding budget should be allocated to food, flowers, entertainment, etc.

There are so many different ways you can keep costs low in planning your wedding. One of the main ways is having a small intimate ceremony. For more tips like this, and further budgeting tips, these articles from the ideas section are so helpful!

If you're interested in outdoorsy stuff and small weddings....the mohican treehouses are great. They're regular wedding packages aren't too badly priced either.

The smaller you can keep the guest list the cheaper it will be. There are a few cheaper venues that I know of, like renting a VFW hall or an enclosed building in the metro parks. You can bring your own food to those places, so you can do it potluck style, or a lot of BBQ places have cheap catering.
