Wedding or Engagement Gift?

I got engaged August 2021 and am getting married September 2022.

It is now January 2022 and I had something from my registry arrive.

Do I think them for the engagement gift or wedding gift?

I kinda think it is engagement, but I don't want to assume.

The card provides no clues and it's a friend of my FH's parents.

Maybe I'll just be generic and thank them for the dishes???

I would just send a thank you note for the lovely gift! I don't think you need to specify engagement gift or wedding gift in the note, just a general "Thank you for the dishes! We really appreciate your generosity, and we can't wait to use them."

There’s no need to specify what kind of gift it is, just thank them.

Outside of Pinterest,engagement parties are not that common and gifts are generally not given for engagements. You don’t need to mention the type on the thank you card.
