Wedding Party app

Shameka, on September 16, 2012 at 3:18 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

So while doing our wedding website I came across this FREE app that allows your friends & family to take pics of everything having to do with your wedding (might want to be careful with those bachelor & bachelorette parties) & then post them to your personalized album. Best of all it's FREE, so no disposable cameras litering your tables at the reception (do people still do that?). People can also leave well-wishes on the site too! So if you have an iPhone or an android (do people seriously buy phones other than the iPhone?) check it out! Because who doesn't want hundreds & hundreds of pics from their wedding? Seriously, who? ;-)

Most people want many pics, but from a professional photographer. iPhone is far from that.

Be very careful with encouraging people to take pics. Many times they will end up in the photographer's way, and many flashes may interfere with their lighting. Also, many couples choose to have an unplugged ceremony because phones and cameras are incredibly distracting.

I agree with Mrs. S about the ceremony, but that sounds great for an ISPY game during the reception.

I love this and I am using it myself! Being a budget bride I am cutting my photographer out early and hoping my guests use this app so I can still have pictures of the late night wedding activities

I'm not encouraging anybody to do anything, I'm sharing a great idea about an app that can be used for all your wedding activities including your ceremony. As of right now I have photos of me trying on dresses & little notes about the progress of my wedding planning, even a pic of a shoe I'm thinking about wearing. My sister in law just posted a pic of me and my FH from HER wedding. My friends will be taking pics from my bridal shower & posting.

And as I'm sure you know, most couples won't see their pictures for at least a month from their professional photographer so most of my friends have been absolutely delighted when they received pictures from their ceremony.

This however puts them in one place instead of 50 emails.

We are all adults, let's act accordingly. I'm not asking anyone to jump in front of the photographer or kick him down the steps. But the ceremony is only one part of the wedding. And if a couple doesn't want photos taken at their ceremony I'm sure that will be announced but if they don't mind, then this again is a great app.

When my son goes to try on his tux, when my mom picks out her dress, when my relatives arrive from out of town, when we have our family dinner, during my wedding & reception, after the kids are exhausted, when the gifts are being opened, when my dj is spinning & because my photographer is an old friend, I'll even take pics with him. How about the guests taking pics of each other?

Think outside the box a little, you may capture beautiful moments your photographer won't even be around for because he's taking pictures of YOU!

It says the Android app isn't ready yet, but I signed up to be notified when it happens.

Waiting for Android app. I like the customization and not being limited like the iPhone, so if I have to wait for an application, so be it ;3

Thank God I know my photographer. He's done my engagement photos and is going to do both wedding days.

I'll wait for the android tho because I'm not an apple drone. :-)

I love the idea! Sorry about the android app, I thought it was ready. My sis in law took a beautiful pic of me & my son while I was trying on a dress. Candid moment, didn't know she snapped it but I plan on printing it & hanging it up.

I know your married already Shameka congrats! I will DEF be using Wedding Party App for my wedding! The photographer no matter how many hours he/she spends taking your photos (especially if its only one photog) will never be able to capture all those candid moments that your guests can catch.

I am interested in checking the Wedding Party app out, but I am concerned that free turns into free for 14 days and then pay up.
