Wedding Party Descriptions

Alyssa, on July 29, 2022 at 11:53 AM Posted in Planning 4 4

I'm looking for ideas on how ya'll introduced your wedding party on your wedding website? For my girls, I could write novels about them but then my fiancé's side he gives me like a sentence on how they met and that's it. Plus they don't have a ton of good quality photos together, haha. I tried just doing their name and role but wedding wire requires that I add a description which is annoying.

Any ideas?

I kept it super simple and did name, roll, and relation to the bride or groom with no photos. We had a very small bridal party of just 3 people so we could have done more but this is what worked for us.

    For example (with bogus names):
Sally Mae Johnson - Maid of Honor - Sister of the bride
Larry Smith - Best Man - Friend of the Groom
Billy Joe James - Officiant - Friend of the groom

What Grace said 👆🏻 That’s exactly what I did. Just name, role, and relation. The writing stories thing can sometimes get competitive or cause hurt feelings. Also, some people might not be comfortable with the bride or groom publishing something personal about them on a website.

I just did labels. "friend of the bride" "friend of the couple" "cousin of the groom" etc.

On our descriptions, I kept it to how we met, something we've had in common (activity in school, hobby, etc.), then some (appropriate) quirky fun fact about our friendship. I didn't want to make it too long or too personal, and I ran everything by each person before it went up.
