Wedding party gifts

Nancy, on June 10, 2019 at 8:28 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18
Hey everyone!
What did you give your wedding party, when you asked them to be in your wedding? Also, what did you give as a thank you gift?
Thanks in advance! ❤

I did not give mine any when I asked and I sort of regret that but I gave them a ton of gifts as a thank you. Stuff like tote bags with a bride tribe t-shirt, some face masks and lotions, bracelet and necklace set, hair ties, etc. And some we're monograms and others would say stuff like thanks for helping me tie the knot (hence the hair ties) and I gave gift cards too. The one thing I didn't do but in hindsight I probably should have was cater each gift personally to each person

Thank you for responding! I have a few ideas to cater towards certain people like one of my sisters is a fan of the show friends, so I'm going to use a quote from the show to ask her! 😊 (Specifically from the episode of Phoebes wedding lol)

Bridesmaids proposals: monogrammed mug, fuzzy socks, a bunch of their favorite snacks, and of course a card.

Bridesmaids gifts: blanket scarf to match the dresses, robe, earrings, bracelets, makeup brushes, and another note. Smiley laugh

Groomsmen gifts: engraved ale horn mugs.

When I asked my bridesmaids, I bought these spinning photo cube boxes. I painted them the colors of the wedding and put four pictures of me and the bridesmaid I was asking in the frame. The top opened so on the inside of lid, I pasted a sticker that said “will you be my bridesmaid?”. Then inside the photo cube, I put a wine goblet that said bridesmaid on it.

For their thank you gifts, I got them all matching robes, ballet slippers they can wear at the reception, and a necklace and earring set that they will wear at the wedding.

I love reading what you all are doing! Smiley smile We did cute bridesmaids proposals with fun things from Michaels that were all in our color scheme. For their thank you gifts we are paying for hair and makeup, a wrap to match their dresses, and probably monogrammed button up sleep shirts to wear while we’re getting ready.

For the proposal I went really simple and got them a Greetabl! They’re super cute, they all loved the little gift they got in the mail and each one called me screaming haha.

For the thank you gifts, I got them wine tumblers with a caricature of them on it, found on Etsy. I think/hope they’ll get a kick out of how I had them portrayed 😂

I did bridesmaid proposals with a box containing a mini champagne, a notepad and pen, and a handmade zippered pouch filled with chocolates. FH just texted the guys haha. For thank you's I'm going to sew tote-bag backpacks for the girls and put in a flannel shirt to get ready in, a Swell bottle, and something else small, and I'm also going to sew dopp kits for the guys, and I think FH wants to also get them personalized flasks.

My husband didn't give his groomsmen anything to ask them, but we gifted them pilsner beer cups that were personalized with their name/groom/wedding date.

For the bridesmaids to ask them, I gave them bride tribe can coozies in the color of their dresses with a wine bottle that had a label asking them to be my bridesmaid. To thank them, we gave them their earrings for the day, a getting ready robe in the color of their dresses, wine glasses with their name on them, and white flip flops to get ready in/change into at the reception all in a cute reusable tote (because I hate being wasteful lol).

My invitations were pretty lackluster as I just took them out for lunch but I also told them I'd pay for at least half of whatever they spend for the wedding
The gifts afterwards we haven't gotten that far yet but I believe I'm gonna give everyone a personalized basket of things they like

For the bridesmaids proposal gifts, I sent a jewelry box with a liquor shooter, nail polish & hair ties that said "to have and to hold your hair back". For the groomsmen proposals, they had an Etsy card that said something like "my future wife made me send this", a personalized coke bottle that said "groomsmen" and a whiskey bottle. For the wedding, bridesmaids are getting a tote, getting ready outfit, hanger, tumbler, and a letter from me. Groomsmen are getting a whiskey glass, a USA pair of socks, and a tie.

For the MOH proposal, I did a pretty white box filled with: a candle, a sleep set (robe, shorts, tank), macaroons, a framed picture of us as kids, & a toy for the flower girl (her daughter). I only have a MOH, so I'm going to buy either her dress and/or the accessories as her gift - depends on prices. Obviously paying for her hair and MU. Buying the flower girl's outfit.

Hey! So with my bridesmaids I bought tie the knot bracelets online from etsy (super sale $3.50 a piece and free shipping). Then I bought wine tervis cups from Walmart and put vinyl on them that say I Do Crew with the o being a ring and then I included small sizes of their favorite liquors and then each box got a "smoky mountain apple pie moonshine" to announce thats where we were getting married. I am also making flannel robes (we are up in the mountains in October so they will be cute, go with rustic vibe and help with warmth) and I am hanging them on their doors in our 9 bedroom cabin so each person knows where their room is. My FH got his guys engraved knives. I haven't really thought about thank you's yet.

I didn’t give them gifts when I asked them. We are one a tight budget but I did get them each custom cards in their favorite color and stuff. For their gifts I will be getting them each robes and toasting glasses and something small like a trinket dish and stuff and I have not figured out anything extra for my maid of honor but I have a matron of honor too and she loves scarves so I’m gonna get her one with her name on it. My maid of honor is my sister so that’s why it’s gonna be hard lol! But I didn’t have the money to give them like will you be boxes and stuff!

Our wedding party is pretty simple.

    2 celebrants
    Matron of Honor
    Best Man
and a wedding Faerie (one of the celebrant's handicapped daughter whom I love to pieces).

One of the celebrants, we invited over to the house for dinner one night (he's also my beekeeping mentor and best friend). I had gotten a gift box and inside of it,I had a folded up note card wrapped in tissue paper. On the note card, I wrote "Will you marry us?" After dinner, we handed him the box, he looked at us suspiciously, opened the box, read it out loud and looked at us even funnier and said "I'm not into that..." (taking the question funnily out of context) but said that he would.

The other, I informally asked her after reading a handfasting she did for another couple.

The matron of honor is my Aunt. She's coming in from New Mexico. I informally asked her as well.

The best man is FH's Dad. He **FINALLY** asked him last week (we're getting married in September).

I'm going to do something special for the wedding faerie :-)

As for thank you gifts.. I'm not sure what to do since we didn't do anything for the "proposals" aside from the one celebrant.

I was thinking bow ties or ties for the men and not sure about the women.
