Wedding party introductions

Jennifer, on July 10, 2015 at 4:35 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

I really want our guests to laugh and have a good time when we introduce each member of the bridal party during the entrance to the reception. Whether it is hinting at something funny/stupid that they've done or something made up. Any ideas for inspiration here????

I would pass on that, anything you think is cute and funny typically turns out awkward for your guests. Play a fun song, do the announcements and move on.

Make sure your bridal party is comfortable with it and then search youtube. I'm sure there are examples on there.

I agree with @emmy. Every wedding I've been a part of that had us dance in or do something cutesy felt awkward to almost every bridal party member. If you want to do it make sure they want to as well.

I went to a wedding where the BM and MOH switched clothes. BM had the MOH dress on and MOH had on his pants a shirt...I thought it was hilarious. Not sure if thats something you would go for but that the only thing Ive ever seen that was really funny. I've heard MC's do intros with nicknames but it's kind of a hit or miss. You don't want to offend anyone

Just a simple introduction would be just fine!

For my sister's wedding, we had each "group" come in to a different song. (Her MOH or BM were married, the out of town groomsmen who didn't know anyone else came in together, my other sister and I came in together.) She coordinated with people to make sure they were comfortable and everyone got a kick out of it. My sister and I came in to "Sisters" from White Christmas with old fashioned parasols, It was silly, but it set a great tone for the reception.

So normally I 100% prefer just everyone acting natural. But I was a bridesmaid in a wedding last weekend and the couple had the DJ introduce each bridal party member with a cute little anecdote or blurb about their friendship. So like for another BM, it was like "And next up, the girl that the bride spent many Friday nights drinking half off margs and whining about law school with, Brianne!" and for me it was "The girl who you won't find without her best friend, Jack Daniels, Lori!" It was kinda cute. Nothing too embarrassing but still kinda funny.

And it was true. I don't have a single picture of me from that wedding without a Jack & Coke in my hand. Whoopsie.

Your MC would have to be really good and animated to pull something like this off. --->kinda like Lori's example
