Wedding Party Processional Songs

Lisa, on June 15, 2022 at 9:09 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 21
My fiance and I are meeting with our DJ this week to discuss final details for our wedding, and we are stuck on what to do for the song that the wedding party will walk down the aisle to!

What song are you using for the wedding party processional? Are you doing an instrumental version, or will it have the lyrics?

I'm doing a trumpet fanfare (Rondeau et Fanfares by Mouret). What kind of music are you thinking?

We're doing a piano version of a pop punk song from the piano dreamers.

We're big pop punk fans, but if we played that at the reception not many of our guests would have a good time, so this is how we're able to sneak a little bit of us in music wise.

Piano Dreamers has a lot of covers of songs from all genres, I would recommend looking there to see if there's anything you like the sound of!

Very cool! I don't think I've ever seen that done at a wedding, I'll have to look up the song. We're not quite sure on what type of music we're looking for - though probably not country. We both would like something that isn't too slow of a tempo, but also isn't too fast. We're undecided on whether to do lyrics or instrumental.

We just had this conversation last night! Our wedding party will walk down to Happy by Surface (it’s kinda an old song) and Britany will walk down to Gerald Levert - Baby I’m Ready. Both are really good songs. Happy is more upbeat in a sense. We also decided to change our order as well.

That's awesome that you picked a genre that describes you for the wedding party processional song! I have not heard of the Piano Dreamers, but will definitely check them out. Thank you for the suggestion!

This is a funny topic as my Fiancee is putting together our after party Playlist. However for the actual Wedding..... We even joked about using music of ROYALTY......Lol
But seriously, do what fits YOU and not others!

H, the officiant, and the GM walked in to Jackie Wilson's "Higher and Higher"

The BMs walked in to The Beatles' "Something"

and I was escorted in to Iz's "Over the Rainbow"

We kept the lyrics for all of them

We did This is Why I Love You, by Major. I didn’t have a bridal party by flower women who represented the eldest wives amongst our guests.

Totally agree to do something that fits you and not others! I love it when people really put their personalities into their weddings. My fiance and I were hoping to get inspiration from songs that other people chose. We had a few in mind, but none of them seemed to be just right. I'm sure we'll find the right one eventually! 🤞

I haven't heard most of those, I will check them out! Thank you for your reply! We were initially thinking of having the wedding party walk down to "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", but couldn't decide whether to do lyrics or instrumental, and then wondered if we instead wanted a song with a different tempo. We were thinking that my fiance and I would walk down the aisle together to "Here Comes The Sun", but also couldn't decide whether we liked it better with lyrics or without.

We decided that the bridesmaids will enter to “So May We Start” by Sparks with lyrics. The groomsmen will enter to something yet to be determined. The entrance song I’m planning to have is a shortened version of “Kylo Ren’s Redemption” arranged by Samuel Kim which is an instrumental.

Good song! I haven't heard the instrumental version, but I've heard the lyrical version.

I don't think I've heard either of those, but will check them out! I love the idea of walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of a song.
