Completely up to the bride and groom! They are a cute touch, but by no means required/necessary.

Just make each one personalized to the receiver! You can do nail polish in a color they like. Mini perfumes in a scent they wear. A candle in a scent they like or that reflects their personality. A lot of people put in things that represent the wedding/celebrating, like mini champagne bottles, a champagne flute with “bridesmaid” etched in it, a wedding themed dvd (father of the bride, bridesmaids, etc.) “bridesmaid” cookies, candy ring pops, etc. A nice touch is including a card with a sweet hand written message asking them to be your bridesmaid.

That theme lends to soooooo many fun options!
Don’t stress about the proposal box. No matter what is in them, your girls will love them! It’s really all about the experience and getting asked to be a bridesmaid!

Expert tip: make sure you bring a mini bottle of champagne for yourself too, so y’all can pop bottles together! (and propose to each of them individually… so you get to drink mordd we bottles! 😂😂)

I got mine off Etsy and the girls absolutely loved them. I’m doing destination, but they had so many different themes on there. It had a personalized tumbler, koozie, team bride sunglasses, hair ties, compact mirror, customized bottle opener and luggage tag! Adding a picture of you and them to the box on the inside lid is a nice touch and writing a note, I think that’s really the best part. They are going to love it no matter what you put in it!

I didn't do proposal boxes but I am doing gift box for the wedding day! The boxes are a mix of things that will either help them get ready, be used/worn on the day, or that are more of an actual gift. So far in the boxes I have:

    earrings

    hair pins

    robes

    wraps

    stockings in case it's cold

blister packs/special squishy things to make heels more comfortable

champagne glasses with their names on them (for practicality, because people put their drinks down and wander off)

    Little perfume samples

a cocktail-in-a-bottle in our wedding colours

fuzzy slippers so they can have comfortable feet for as long as possible before putting their shoes on

    face masks

maybe some kind of tasty food item!

I only have one bridal party member (my sister) I got her a personalized tote bag from Etsy, a cookie set with a calendar that asked the question a calendar with the date. I also added some of her favorite snacks in the bag. Nothing crazy and nothing specific to the wedding (except the cookies) or her title. Her daughters are my flower girls and I did the same thing for them, just a smaller version and added a confetti popper.

Not a fan of them personally because they put people on the spot to say yes without any consideration to their schedule, financial/emotional ability to participate, etc. Also very expensive to ship across the country or overseas.

If you must have them, go with something not generic that is suited to each lady’s interests. But don’t go broke because you also need to give a thank you gift after the wedding.

I did boxes for my girls & I got them each: a customized shot glass that says “I do crew”, hair scrunchies, a face mask, an under eye mask, a mini FireBall whiskey drink/shot, a bracelet that says “I can’t tie the knot without you”, and a ring pop! I topped it off with a card that asked them to be my bridesmaid/maid of honor.

I am doing proposal boxes. I am just going to hand make the cards (something simple), I found a pretty inexpensive tervis pack on amazon, cute make up bags, and some hair ties that say team bride. In total it ended up being $15 a box and all the stuff is practical for my group.
