My FH and I each have 4 of our closest friends in our wedding party. However, I also have two siblings: one sister and one brother (FH is an only child). I'm not incredibly close with them because we live far away from each other and we're all the type of people who are terrible at keeping in touch as adults. But otherwise we still have a good relationship when we're together, so I'd love to include them in our wedding day. I just don't feel like we're close enough for it to be in the wedding party (and my FH and brother aren't close either). So my plan is to ask them to be ushers.
What I need help with:
1. Does this just sound like a terrible idea? I don't want them to feel like an afterthought, because they aren't. I truly love them and want to include them, but I just don't feel the wedding party is the best place (in our situation).
2. If I do go with the usher route, I've read that ushers often wear similar/same clothing as the wedding party, and get ready with them day of as well. Would it be weird to have them wear the same outfits and get ready with the wedding party...? Should I ask them to wear similar but slightly different outfits? Should I not have them get ready with the wedding party day of? Again, my main focus is just that I don't want them to feel like an afterthought.
