Wedding photo albums?

MrsNerd, on December 26, 2016 at 12:03 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14

Has anyone put together a photo book from one of those websites, like shutterfly, etc? Any suggestions or warnings? I'd like to make a nice, professional looking book for my family members.

I made one with pics from our cruise on shutterfly for my FILS for Christmas. I have another with epics on its way. It was super easy and looked great!

My photographer recommended using artifact uprising. They start at $139. The quality is better than sites like Shutterfly but of course, that also means they cost more.

I'm having my photographer create my album using her software. This is more expensive but I want a really nice album.

For my personal purposes, I love Shutterfly. I made one of our engagement photos, have done several from various holidays, and just made one from our dog to her doggie grandparents for Christmas which was a big hit. Prices are very reasonable.

I used Shutterfly for an engagement photo album during a sale that they had and it turned out great!

Shutterfly is fine for vacation pics but DEFINITELY not nice enough quality for something like a wedding album!

My photographer recommended Nations Photo Lab

If you're going to make an album yourself, I recommend using Nations Photo Lab. They have beautiful, professional quality albums starting at $99. They offer thick, lay flat pages too. I urge people to use professional quality albums and prints (Costco does great 4x6 prints) in order to showcase wedding photos like they deserve Smiley smile

I agree with pp, the general photo printing sites like Shitterfly and Snapfish are great for everyday stuff, but there's no way I'd trust them with out wedding photos. I fully intend to have a pro album printed once we have our digital prints, I don't care what it will cost us. It's something I know I'll look through frequently and will be worth the cost.

I second Nations Photo Lab. I used them for my boudoir album and was very impressed with their quality and have now switched my professional services over to them too. I can't wait until I can make my wedding album!

I am such a huge fan of shutterfly!! They have good deals a lot too! I just made a calendar for my sister in law as a Christmas present and the quality of it was amazing!

I used Snapfish and am very happy with the quality of it. I bought a Groupon and got a hard covered 22 page photobook for $10, including shipping. I think there is a difference between a "photobook" and an album, I think albums are much more expensive/better quality paper, etc. So it depends on what you're looking for and how much you want to spend.

I got 2 different free (just had to pay shipping) albums from Shutterfly since I bought my dress at David's Bridal so I did an engagement book and a wedding book. The quality is great for free, but I didn't think it was awesome. I still plan to do another album for the wedding since I do want a more professional one still. I think it's a good option if you can get a deal (free is especially great!).
