Wedding photographer for elopement

Lily , on March 3, 2018 at 9:33 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10
So FH and I haven’t really ever had a professional photographer take our photos and typically we’ve never paid over $70 dollars for photos of us and our family. I am having trouble finding a photographer and today a I get a message from one offering to take the photos for us for a flat $580, no more than that. But my question is is that reasonable for an elopement where it’s just going to be the two of us?

Are you questioning if the price is too high or too low? How many hours will they be shooting? The price is going to vary based on your geographic location, the number of hours, and the photographer’s skill set. I’m eloping and for two hours worth or coverage I’m paying $1150. Photography was one of the most important things to me so it was crucial that I found a photographer who I would have no doubts about!

I wanted to know if it was too high. FH says 3 hours but I honestly think only 1-2. We live in and will be getting married in Georgia. The photographer has excellent reviews and his pictures are very nice as well, I’m just not very experienced with photography prices.

That's a normal price, and I agree to go with 3 hours because the time goes by quickly. It doesn't matter if it's just the two of you, getting to different spots, setting up the shots, checking lighting, holding a pose all takes times AND it's still a day worth documenting with photos

We are paying $600 for 4 hours (we are eloping with 8 other people and then taking people out to lunch and still having first dance). This includes us getting all the prints.

Some photoraphers will do an hourly rate, but you’re still looking at $150/hr or so. You could ask about that but photography is usually expensive, so Your price sounds in the ballpark...

My elopement photographer is $450 for 1.5 hours, including all high resolution images. It's also just the two of us. How long would the $580 be for? It also depends on where you are located

I think that is an AMAZING price. We are doing an adventure elopement with just the two of us and for 6-8 hours of photography, we are paying $4600. No album, no e-shoot, nothing, just pictures.

    Seem reasonable. Usually more expensive.

Personally I think that price is cheap for wedding pictures regardless of an elopement or not.

You should focus on the the quality of the pictures you are going to get and how skilled the photographer is rather than the price. The price you mentioned is not too high but you should make sure if the guy you are hiring is worth it. Benjamin Edwards has reasonable prices and he has one of the best elopement portfolios in case anyone wants to check it out.
