I am currently booking a photographer I have to decide between the 8 hour or 10 hour package. Not sure which to pick 10 hour includes 2nd photographer. I will also have a videographer so not sure if I really need 2nd photographer?

Personally, I would do the package that includes the second photographer. They can capture photos from different angles than the main photographer. Totally depends on your budget and the cost, but if it's in your budget, I would do the 10 hour package with the second photographer.

Totally agree with Lisa for the same reason! Having a second photographer is really beneficial. You get more camera angles of the same moment (walking down the aisle), and you can get more photos taken in a shorter span of time. Ex. One photographer can be getting photos of the bride and bridal party, while the other gets pics of the groom and groomsmen!

I agree with the PPs, I would definitely choose the package that comes with a second photographer!

When you have a 2nd Photographer, you get moments captured at different angles.

You also get to capture photos of both you and your FS getting ready for the wedding, when with one photographer you only get pictures of one of you!

I would choose the package with the second photographer. We had 2 photographers and 2 videographers. We ended up with so many great photos from different angles, it was worth having 2.

If you want a variety of different photos to look back at then for sure get the 2nd photographer.

I would disagree slightly and say if you had to choose, get a second videographer rather than a second photographer... actually you only need a second videographer for the ceremony (and first look if you're doing one). There are so many angles to capture at the ceremony. Ideally you should have two cameras going at all times, and three when you're saying your vows (one on you, one on your future spouse, and one on both of you - the one that is continuously running at the back).

Plus, the second videographer can get some audience shots as well. Having only one guarantees you won't get any audience shots because they will be way too busy with trying to capture what's going on anyway.

That takes a lot of coordination and one videographer might not be enough. Whereas a pro photographer takes shots VERY quickly. We had one photographer and he managed to get audience reactions and all the happenings from multiple angles. Sure, when we were saying our vows he didn't get any audience shots, but there were plenty of other audience shots of people just looking towards the front. You don't need the exact moment.

Plus, if you're doing a first look, again, you ideally want the moment captured in two angles. We really wish we thought of that before we booked our videographer and photographer!

I am going with a 10 hour package for photography and videography and getting an assistant for both! The assistants, however, will only be there for 6 hours.

I would say yes to the 2nd photographer for sure, but I’m not sure why you wouldn’t get a 2nd photographer with an 8 hour package option.
