Wedding photoshoot idea north side of chicago

Hello. The Bahai Temple in Wilmette is gorgeous, but just check permission as it is a place of worship. My brother and SIL took the wedding party on a trolley from Evanston down Lake Shore Drive to take pictures outside the Planetarium on the Lake's edge. I think we also stopped by Buckingham Fountain. The LSD drive was not too long and we easily came back north for the reception.

If you are in the northern suburbs, you can take the 94 to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Best wishes.

What neighborhood is your reception in? Here are some places if you need to stay in the city; not sure how far north you're looking for:
- Lincoln Park itself has a lot of places outside of the zoo - one of my favorites is by the Grant Statue/archway. I'm not sure how getting a permit works, but I would guess this is separate from the zoo.

- Montrose Beach has both a wildlife area and that cool old waterbreak that extends out and gives a view towards the lake and some of the bigger north side skyscrapers. You could get some great industrial vibe shots out here. North Avenue beach has a similar (and prettier) waterbreak where you can get a background of downtown. Look up Photography Point here.

- Belmont Harbour could give you a great nautical vibe.

- The Loyola campus is stunning; full of old university buildings and beautiful lawns.

Hi Erin,

My reception will be near Rogers park. My original plan was Lincoln park zoo but I contacted them and they denied my request for permit, they said because they already have a wedding on that day. I was really confused that they only accept one wedding photoshoot per day but oh well.

I am thinking of Loyola University as well since it is my alma mater but my husband did not attend Loyola so I dont know if he wants that idea.
