Wedding plan issues

Kat, on July 7, 2021 at 2:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

Hi,

My fiancé and I were going to have our wedding at our church that we're both members at and our pastor was going to be our officiant but some issues came up with our pastor (long story) and now we're both uncomfortable to have him officiate our wedding so we're trying to find another officiant and we also feel that we shouldn't use our church since we're getting another officiant. We're having a micro wedding of about 18 people and we're 3 months ahead of our wedding trying to figure out what we should do. We're thinking about having the wedding at my parents home in the front yard and then have a little backyard reception but the only issue is that since we thought we were having our micro wedding at our church we were planning to have a wedding celebration party with more of our family at my parents home a month after the wedding. Would it be odd to have the wedding celebration party in the same location as our wedding?

I don't think it would strike anyone as odd to have the later party at the same location as your wedding, but if you are going to move the whole thing to your parents' house, why not just have your whole celebration at one time? It kind of makes the later party extra superfluous.

I don't think that would be weird at all! You could also combine everything into one party like Maggie suggested, or go to a nice restaurant after your micro wedding to switch things up!

And you can use WeddingWire's local vendor search to help you find a new officiant:
