Wedding planner asking for all vendor contracts

Victoria, on October 18, 2022 at 7:49 PM Posted in Planning 1 6

Hi Ladies,

I think it might be normal for the wedding planner to ask for all vendor contracts so far. I have hired full planning just in case things get busy for me at work. However, do you guys send the full written contracts with the prices on it or can I grey out the price part? What would you recommend or what have you done?

This is normal for full service planners, but is optional for day of coordinators. Why would you redact the prices? Leave them as is. One of the things that many full service planners do is try to get you better prices and she may be able to catch someone overcharging you if the prices are not redacted before you turn them over to her.

Thanks for your response. We already booked photographer and videographer that we love and she knows this and have seen and heard of them and might have worked with them before. It's just that we spent a majority of our money since that aspect is super important for that. We also spent a majority of our budget on wedding planning as well. The rest of the stuff though, we do want to carefully budget for since those aren't our top priorities. Just feel slightly shy and embarrassed to say that I will need to carefully budget the rest.

Yes, you can most certainly mark out the prices on the contracts. There is no need for your coordinator to have that info

Your planner might want the prices if they are trying to keep you on budget. I sent my planner everything. All communications and contracts with vendors. The more she knows the easier everything will go on the day of. At least that was my thought process.

For me this part was necessary. We are getting married outside of the country, and she is located there so to avoid vendors taking advantage of being over charged, I gave her full authority of contracts and pricing. This will also help her keep you on a certain budget.

I sent all my contracts to my planner she just reviewed them and made sure everything is in order and they also make sure on wedding day you received everything you were contracted for.
