Wedding planner help

Angie, on April 29, 2021 at 11:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 2

Hi everyone! I'm in need of some advice.

As of right now I'm focusing on hiring a day of coordinator and I've met a lot of great ones, but I have no idea who to hire Smiley cry they are all very friendly and for the most part they all offer almost the exact same services. Is there something I can ask that can help narrow down my options? How did you decide of what planner/coordinator to go with?

I'm not looking for a full on planner, just someone that will help create the wedding timeline and obviously just make sure the day runs smoothly.

I had also set out to find a day-of coordinator but I found a coordinator who had a Month-Of coordinating package and she wasn't too expensive like other coordinators in my area! What I noticed with a lot of coordinators is that they all kind of offer the same services but some are just way more pricey. It took some digging but I found a wonderful coordinator who (even though I only paid for her Month-Of coordinating services) emails me with suggestions and helpful tips and keeps me on track with a timeline of when I should be getting certain things booked! Her actual coordinating of my wedding will begin about 6 weeks prior to the event and she will become the point person for all of my vendors to contact rather than me being stressed out all the way up until the day of!

The thing that set her apart for me... My parents are WAY more excited for the AFTER party of my wedding! So I wanted to make sure I found someone who would also be willing to leave my reception at some point and make sure the after-party location was set up and ready for my family to wreak havoc! My godsend of a coordinator said that she is happy to do that! So I just suggest keep looking at prices, packages, and ask questions specific to YOUR day and see if they can reasonably accommodate your needs!

Ask for references. I have a full service planner and when I was shopping around I asked all the planners for references. I’m sure you could do the same with day of coordinators.

You may also want to compare the contracts of a few of the planners. Throughout the wedding planning process we’ve seen some crazy clauses in contracts that have made us not want to work with certain vendors.
