Wedding Planner (my two cents)

I have seen a lot of people on this forum asking of a wedding planner/coordinator is worth it. Well, I would like to share the experience I had today. My wedding planner called me unexpectedly. She informed me that she had received an email from the bakery who was supposed to bake our wedding cake. I will spare you the details, but basically they were no longer going to be in business (which was a huge shock, since they are a premier bakery for wedding cakes!), and would no longer be able to make our cake. She told me not to worry, she was handling everything. She had already secured a refund on our deposit, and had obtained quotes from 6 other reputable bakeries to make our cake, and was able to schedule tastings for each of them on a day my fiancé is off work AT OUR HOME, so that we are not inconvenienced with having to travel to each bakery! This woman had all the legwork done before even contacting me, and made what could have been an extremely stressful situation completely stress-free! She has been incredibly hands-on with every step of the process thus far, and has instructed each of our vendors to contact her with any issues, so that we don’t stress/worry about anything. If you are on the fence about whether to get a planner/coordinator, I highly recommend it!
