I thought about it then saw their prices and it was a definite no. My venue offers a day of coordinator to help with set up and keeping everything on track the day of the wedding and that was enough for me. You can start with a simple wedding planners in my area Google search or search for them under the vendors section on wedding wire. If you tend not to be the most organized person, don't like the idea of shopping around for vendors, or don't think you have time to plan a wedding, I'd probably look down the wedding planner route.
However there are checklists and good planner guides on the knot and wedding wire that help guide you throughout the process and I keep a giant Google sheet with everything wedding related to keep every together. The important thing is to not get overwhelmed and take one task/vendor at a time

I’ve never thought of hiring one- why spend $$ on things I could do myself. Our venue has an all inclusive package that we signed up for. After we signed the contracts with each vender, they coordinate with them for schedules. Our venue also has a DOC that’s included so things run smoothly on the day of. I love WW for these forums but I’ve seen too many people having issues with their domains they purchased. I use The Knot for my wedding planning checklist to keep me on track.

I went to local bridal shows which often times they will give you discounts on services for attending. I couldn't have made it through the planning without my wedding planners. We just told them what we liked, wanted our vision and they took care of the rest. Aside from things that are srill on us such as attire, guestbook things like that, it has relieved a lot of stress.

I'm always against hiring a wedding planner primarily because they cost WAY too much to do something I can do myself for free lol. I DO suggest getting a day of coordinator. They are lifesavers for the bride and groom, and will take care of everything day-off. This includes making sure everyone is on time, sticking to the timeline, vendors are in order, handling any mishaps so you don't have to, etc.

I just made a google sheets (excel spreadsheet). I have different sections: budget & payments, bridal party, food, bevs, decorations checklist, vendor contact info, etc. This has been a lifesaver because I can check it on my phone without having to carry around a big wedding planner book with me. It's also great because I have everything on one spreadsheet, and I can share it with my FH so he can also see our progress.

I hired a wedding planner and personally I feel like it was a waste of budget. ONLY because I wanted to plan everything - that's been one of my favorite parts of engagement! But I do have friends who didn't hire a wedding planner and say it was the biggest regret. I think it all depends on how into the planning stuff you are.

I’ve been planning my entire wedding with the help of my mom and some of my bridal party, and I definitely think that it’s doable if you don’t have the extra money to spend on an official wedding planner. A lot of venues also have recommended vendors that they work with often which helps a lot with narrowing down your search

I considered a wedding planner at first but I'm a planner at heart and I've been having fun doing it myself. I have a binder, my MOH bought me a Wedding Planner/Organizaer, I've got a printable checklist from a couple of wedding websites like this one, Zola, and TheKnot. I made a wedding specific email account, utilize our calendars and google sheets, and will have a Day-Of-Coordinator included with my venue.

This site and TheKnot had the best options for wedding planners - i just did a search and started reaching out. Hope this helps.
