Wedding planner

Any bride getting married or got married at The Merion, did you find that a wedding planner was needed? Or if you didn’t hire one do you regret not doing so?

Our original date was 7/2/20 but we are postponing and now I’m second guessing if we should hire one. Everything is planned and purchased for the most part but lately the venue has me questioning how helpful they will be the day of.
Hoping someone can provide some insight of their experience with The Merion

Hi Kendra! I think it really depends on what kind of support you're looking for on your wedding day. Here's a helpful guide that breaks down different levels of wedding planning support: The 7 Different Types of Wedding Planners and What They Do.

My venue coordinator was incredible: they oversaw deliveries (rentals and flowers), they handled the set-up and break-down, and since the catering was provided by the venue she was also my point of contact with the food tastings and cake design. But, their responsibilities are typically limited to being your liaison with the venue and helping you coordinate deliveries.

My wedding planner also worked with my venue coordinator, but her job was very different! She helped me select and vet my vendor team, develop a cohesive decor and design plan, helped me negotiate services with my florist, developed my wedding day timeline, coordinated and oversaw communication with all of my wedding vendors starting a full week before the wedding, attended my rehearsal, and was by my side the entire wedding day. I'm exhausted from just writing all of that! Smiley xd
