Wedding Planner

Hey all! I just got engaged 🥰 We are wanting a destination wedding in Costa Rica! It would likely be rather small, likely 15 to max 50 probably of our closest family/friends. I have a good vision of what I'm wanting and found a few options for wedding planners which may be nice since it would be international. I initially thought I would do a resort wedding and thus wouldn't really need a planner but now we are leaning toward a private villa beach wedding or near volcano. I don't have a clear budget; but have always preferred to spend money on travel/trip for location/experience than ceremony/reception. I still want a put together and pretty intimate ceremony/reception, and I feel a planner could be really helpful and give me what I am looking for but just trying to decide if it's worth it? Thoughts and advice wanted! Thanks!!

Congratulations on your engagement! I would definitely say to first set a budget as to how much you all will be willing to spend. Sometimes things can get pretty costly. Working with a planner could also be helpful to plan out your vision. I would say check wedding planners near you to see what you find.

I definitely recommend a planner for a destination wedding. Unless you're able to travel to the location, meet with vendors, see their work, etc., then it would be super helpful to have someone who's familiar with the vendors in the area as well as able to handle the logistics of the planning.

    Krista,

As a fellow destination wedding girl, 100% rec getting a planner. Even for non-destinations, even if they're intimate, not having a planner can be incredibly stressful!

We spent about 24k on a destination wedding of about 80-90 people for absolutely everything. Not in the same country and at a resort not a private villa - so def could vary but I hope that helps give some insight!
