Wedding planning amidst covid

Madison, on July 24, 2020 at 9:46 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11
Is anyone planning a wedding for 2021 but somewhat afraid of not being able to due to restrictions with big gatherings? I do not want a wedding where we have to wear masks.

We postponed to 2021. Am I nervous still, yes. It’s too far away right now to worry for my situation. Things change weekly and I’m simply holding out until March 2021. The possibility of masks for the next 6-12 months is a reality. I would wait it out a bit longer, but make a plan B and a timeline of when you would need to decide by. This is a stressful time, stay positive ☺️

Try not to stress too much and enjoy the planning and engagement. Make sure you read your contracts thoroughly before signing anything, and have a good plan b. Know when you need to decide by if you may want to postpone depending on mask requirements and any other limitations, and until then try not to worry about it. Things have already changed so rapidly, it’s hard to know what 2021 is going to be like. I expect masks are here to stay for a while. Good luck!

I just planned my wedding 3 weeks ago to be this october. The truth is that we do not know when the virus will be present, and when a vaccine will be available. For us, it was a question of how long we wanted to put our lives on hold. We want to get married and get a house and start a family. The thing about us women is we are all on a biological clock. One of the things we are doing is having it all outdoors, and we are making peace with family and friends who can not make it because of the virus. We are going to have a beautiful wedding, and masks will be there. Its hard, but I am trying to find a way to tell myself this is just another area we need to get creative with.

I'm a bit nervous. Our wedding is February but we refuse to hold off any longer than we already have. We've been through so much with our wedding plans pre covid that we're just gonna push forward no matter what.

I've seen couples on here who have postponed like 3 times already. If we end up postponing (by choice) due to covid, there's no telling if or when we'd actually get married. No one knows how long this will really last.

Our wedding is in May 2021, slightly nervous but I'm not letting myself overthink it. We're getting married regardless be it in a castle at our venue or the backyard. Smiley smile

Wedding is October 2021...I’m nervous, but still planning as usual. And we’re anticipating masks will be worn, and considering alternate guest counts for sure, and spacing etc.

Our wedding is October 2021. We are talking with each vendor about the process for postponing in case we have to go that route, and we’re ensuring that the contracts back up what we’ve been told. I’m fully expecting masks to be present at that point, but we shall see. We’re booking as much as we can now because vendors are booking up so quickly for next year. I’m more afraid of not getting the vendors I want than of restrictions that may or may not be an issue.

With the virus still raging and after postponing once (from to October 2020 to October 2021), there’s never going to be a 100% confident feeling. However I’m still excited, hopeful and looking forward to next Fall. One thing I think about is that much more time will have gone by, and the virus won’t be such a new thing like it currently is. So, I was willing to take the risk and postpone in hopes of being able to properly host a destination wedding weekend with our guests. But only one postponement is it!!

We just postponed from 10/30/2020 to 10/30/2021 with our venue. Hoping rest of our vendors will be able to accommodate our new date. Crossing our fingers that coronavirus will be much more under control in 2021 and the restrictions with large gatherings are somewhat relaxed by then.

My Fiance and I are shooting for next June but it's stressful not knowing how long this covid will still be affecting gatherings.
