Wedding Planning Book

Hal_2019, on September 6, 2018 at 12:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone had any wedding planning books that they loved? I'm using google sheets for my budget and I have a binder portfolio to keep my contracts in but I want a book to physically write in and for planning so I know when payments are due. Also, for a monthly checklist and just to help with wedding planning in general!

Welcome to WeddingWire, Haley!! Smiley ring

I'm somebody who likes to physically write in a planner too! I don't know of a specific wedding planner but I know at Staples they have a bunch of options for building your own planner according to what you need! I know that some of them also have pockets for you to store your contracts in! You could also check Amazon for a designated wedding planner if you would rather!

You should check out the WeddingWire checklist tool! You can customize it, track your progress, and access it from anywhere! And, if you would rather have a physical copy of it, you can download your list and print it out!

We're so excited to have you in the community!!

I was going too, but decided not too. I got a binder and page dividers and made my own. You can do it all for free and keep things organized. You can do an excel spreadsheet for your budget or just a line sheet of paper. I love mine, and it saved me money.

I mean it isnt expensive but $20 somewhere else can mean something

I bought a "The Knot" planner from Amazon for $20. It works really well!

I have the same one as Kimberly. A lot of the stuff in it wasn't as useful for me so I actually gutted a lot of it and reorganized it to my liking. It doesnt have a calendar so I made my own on excel. I also have 1 giant excel doc with about 10 tabs cor various things. Honestly I use that more than my book.

Thanks! What did you label your tabs for your page dividers?

So I did one for contracts, then one for each vendor, a checklist, notes and budget.

I also ordered The Knot wedding planner and it really helps when you are in the beginning steps of planning and you have no clue of what you're doing, lol. At least thats what I felt like, once I started planning I would search for stuff online to help like lists of the most commonly forgotten wedding items and print them out and stick them in the binder. Now i have a customized wedding planner book, I inserted pages with slots for pictures and slots for extra papers, etc and I have everything from my ideas to my contracts just neatly waiting for their execution. Its super helpful if you are self planning and sites like this one will definitely help with the planning. Also one thing that I can not stress enough is asking couples who have already married of the things that went wrong during their wedding and things that they would change or do differently if they had the chance to redo. Pay close attention as many people say the same things and may shine some light on some uncertainty that you may have. Good Luck!!

I downloaded the one here: https://happilyeverafteretc.com/how-to-put-together-your-perfect-free-wedding-binder-42-free-wedding-printables/

And then supplemented with some other free printable planning sheets I found with a google search, printed the ones I needed and made my own binder using just the things we needed. For example no groom meant no groom's attire pages needed.
