Wedding Planning Going Too Slow?

We’re getting married in April next year and we are so excited but I’m incredibly bored of having nothing to do. My parents made me push the date to 2023 despite my wishes of a fall wedding. they state I need over a year to plan but I’m an event planner for a living. I could have gotten this done within 6-8 months. With that being said, my family, fiancé and my MOH is all telling me slow down and I don’t need to do everything right now. I’ve been engaged for almost 4 months and I already have my venue, DJ, photographer, videographer and florist booked. We are now starting to look at wedding cakes. What else can I do for my wedding to cure my boredom without hearing from my family to slow down?

Well that is an entirely different problem. It is important that you are both on the same page. Planning a wedding is stressful. I encourage you & your fiancée to talk & make sure you both have the same vision for your wedding.

I've had a similar problem but I'm making all my decorations myself so I have an exuse to get details nailed down and also giving myself time to put things together without having to rush at the end. (Centerpieces, fake flowers, ect.) Good luck!

I just started. My wedding is on May 18,2023. We just booked the venue ( NYIT de seversky Mansion) .but oh man photography and videographers are SO EXPENSIVE 🤯.
