Wedding Planning... How's it going?

We are all done with our planning and now I’m bored 😂 More anxious really and excited for it to finally happen. My fiancé and I planned together, by ourselves. My favorite part was the planning, we really had fun and our wedding will really show off our goofy personalities. I don’t Ike the waiting, but I’ll take it. If I did offer advice, I’d say have fun and don’t be serious.

Anyone helping you plan? Not really, its all on me! Which I don't really mind, its a small wedding and I take pride in the smallest details and like being in control of how events go (I was a past event planner lol)

How involved is your partner in the process? He wants to be involved but he's pretty clueless (those are his words) about the whole planning process and his work schedule hasn't been the easiest for him and he says whatever I chose he'll love and appreciate. I wish there were more ways that I could include him..

What's been your favorite part/the most exciting? Flowers were the biggest source of excitement apart from the wedding itself and the dress. Since the source of my decorations was basically just flowers and candles, getting to chose the flowers for our wedding really made the whole things come together in my head and make my vision a reality.

What's been your least favorite/most stressful? Dealing with cutting our guest list from 200 people to 25 people because of covid and having to explain that to everyone in my large family that takes everything very personally when its not personal at all.

Advice for others? My best advice I can give is stand behind your decisions, don't let other people try to change your mind on what your vision is.

How involved is your partner in the process?

He is the best and has been involved in just about every element of planning.

What's been your favorite part/the most exciting?

One of the first things I did was buy my wedding shoes from Louboutin, and that was really fun! It's a tough choice, but I'd say dress shopping was probably my favourite part. It really made everything feel a lot more real. Other than that, I wouldn't call it exciting, but buying/planning all the tiny little details to pull everything together has been super satisfying. We're having rabbits on our cake-topper, and little rabbits on our card table, and it's been fun finding elements to include here and there - just stuff like, the perfect fluffy slippers for the bridesmaids in colours that match their robes, or guest favours that reflect us both.

What's been your least favorite/most stressful?

So far, timeline stuff, since there are just SO MANY moving parts. But, we haven't done seating plans yet, and I've heard that's a diplomatic nightmare, so we have that to look forward to, I guess?

Advice for others?

I personally found it super helpful to spend some time creating an 'if we could afford anything...' type Pinterest board for every element of our wedding. It gave my fiance and I a really clear idea of what we wanted our day to look like.

I know lots of people who didn't do that, so when they started trying to piece things together bit by bit, they were super overwhelmed because they didn't have an overarching plan.

It made it so much easier to switch little elements in and out once we started to get down to the boring practicalities of cost and availability because we had a really clear idea of the vibe we wanted to create.
