Wedding planning or wedding planner?

Abreyon, on October 21, 2020 at 2:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 13
Does anyone else feels under pressure trying to plan your dream wedding? I’m fairly new at this I’m not really sure where to start 😂 Did anyone hire a wedding planner?

Don’t worry, the beginning is always the most confusing and overwhelming! Then, once you get into planning and realize how much everything costs, that is the most stressful! But don’t worry, once you start narrowing down vendors and making decisions, it gets fun! I would suggest starting by sitting down with your fiancé and making out your guest list. Knowing how many people you are going to invite will help you to know how big a venue you need to look for. Which ever venue you choose will help set the tone of your wedding (ie, Formal, casual, rustic, urban, etc.), and will help you to choose the colors/aesthetic/theme/vibe you want for your wedding, as well as what kind of food you will be serving. Once you nail down those basics, you can start the fun part- picking out your wedding dress, flowers, photographer, decor! Just try not to get overwhelmed and take it one task at a time, and have fun with it!! And Congratulations!!! 💜

I did not hire a wedding planner. Instead, I used the checklist on The Knot! Start with figuring out your budget and estimated guest count, and then look for venues within your budget that can hold the number of guests you're planning to invite. From there, look for vendors (photographer, DJ, etc), and work your way towards the rest of the details. If purchasing a dress new from a bridal salon, buy it at least 8 months in advance to give plenty of time for shipping and alterations. Once you have the bigger pieces figured out, then look at the smaller details (wedding colors, decorations, centerpieces, etc). Happy wedding planning!

Thank you Chrysta 💛 this was very informative! We’ve picked our colors which lead me to start looking at dresses before creating a guest list lol back to the drawing board we go!

You’re skipping ahead to all the fun stuff! LOL
But hey, knowing what color scheme/vibe you want for the wedding could help you choose a venue it would look good in!

We hired a planner (one that lives in the country we’re getting married in, our main reason), and it has been a huge help. She basically just gives us a few options for vendors i.e. venues, hair dressers, caterers, and laid out all pricing and details, and we would choose the one we want to work with. I trust her network of vendors so it has given me peace and has made the process easier on us!!

We didn’t hire a wedding planner. Our venue has a day of coordinator. Our venue has an all inclusive package that we signed up for. We make our payments to the venue & they make sure all the venders get paid. The owner/coordinator makes sure all venders are there at the appropriate times. That’s a huge weight off my shoulders.

We hired a wedding planner although most of the stuff we’re doing ourselves. I’m just a hands on type of bride LOL but as far as small details she’s been a tremendous help

The beginning of wedding planning can get very overwhelming and stressful! Just remember to take a step back and BREATHE. You have time and can take baby steps if you have to!

We aren't hiring a wedding planner. We are having a day of coordinator to help us coordinate and handle day-of stuff.
