Wedding planning with no date!

Anna, on September 25, 2019 at 11:16 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
Hello! I just recently got engaged and we haven't picked a date yet! We know it'll be a couple of years but is there anything I can start planning now? Or should I just wait until we decide on a date to do anything? Thank you!

Hm if you know your wedding colors I don't see the harm in just browsing for things

I would choose a date first, but it's totally fine to go ahead and think about color palettes and dresses Smiley smile

Start planning your budget so you can start saving! That will help you nail down how far out your date needs to be so that you can have the wedding you want.

Start a pinterest board so you can start pinning what you like the most!

I would start planning budget and guest list and researching vendors. But I wouldn’t buy things or get attached to colors because you never know what your venue will be like or what they will already have.

There is definitely some planning & pre-planning you can do without a date!

I think the first most important step is really sitting down and discussing a budget. This will help you choose your venue & vendors. Next thing I would suggest is sitting down with your fiance and you both put together a guest list -this will help you get a general idea of how big your wedding will be - this paired with your budget will also help you determine if your budget needs to go up or if you might need to shave off a few people.

Then comes the fun stuff! Start compiling images (yay Pinterest) of inspo you find that help you determine your wedding colors & overall vibe you want. You can also decide on who will be in your bridal party & put together a proposal for them (if that's what you want to do).

If your heart isn't set on an exact date or season I think if you keep an open mind you'll find the perfect venue with a date they have available. OR if your heart is set on a specific venue reach out to see their availability!

    Happy planning & congratulations!! ❤

I think things like budget, guest list, time of year, what you want in a venue, etc. is okay to plan now! I'd try to pick a venue & date though before other vendors.

I started planning the day after I got engaged without a date LOL You can start by picking colors, researching some venues online, getting ideas about the type of wedding you want, deciding on attendants, budget. You can start looking at dresses to narrow down what you like. by the time we finally had the date I only had about 5 months to get everything done, so my pre-planning really helped
