Wedding plans this pandemic

"Weddings all over the country were postponed or canceled during the pandemic in 2020. Many of those weddings were rescheduled to sometime this year.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment dropped all indoor capacity restrictions in the state back in the end of May, which gave brides and grooms hope for the rest of the year. But now with a rise in the COVID delta variant cases in Colorado and across the country, the fear of cancellations and postponing large events is back.

According to CDPHE’s website, since the first week of June, the delta variant is the main concern when it comes to COVID cases in Colorado.

FOX31 and Channel 2 talked to a handful of Colorado brides who have already postponed their weddings once during the pandemic and are now worried about having to postpone again."

My sister and her fiance were due to marry in October 2021 however this was canceled due to COVID. They have rescheduled for May 2022 but they can’t help but think they're going to be in the same predicament now. My sister feels upset and confused. I suppose I’m just wondering if anybody is feeling the same or finding themselves in the same predicament? What are your thoughts? And what would be the best advice that you can give if it's your sister's trouble? Thank you.

When we postponed our wedding, my aunt gave me amazing advice: that God had a reason for us to marry on a different day and only on that day would I understand. Our original date ended up being the biggest storm day and our postponed date was the most beautiful weather with a sunset that seemed made for that magical evening 🌅🌸. My aunt was right!

I would suggest your sister have an outdoor plan, purchase hand sanitizers and such so not to be left scrambling come May. Best of luck to her ❤️

My husband and I had to cancel and postpone our wedding due to COVID. We still had a microwedding last October but our big wedding is scheduled for this October and we plan on going through no matter what. It's definitely unfortunate especially since so much planning goes into weddings. But it worked out for the best of us, I feel like everything happens for a reason. We were able to purchase our first home together and I don't think that would've happened if the wedding didn't get postponed.

I would tell her try not to stress about it because everything does truly happen for a reason. She may not see that reason now, but she will in the future.

We thought we'd be well out of the woods but now the news is talking about a third wave and potentially extending restrictions - which we won't find out about until 6 weeks before the big day! Wondering whether to amend it to a small ceremony just to be on the safe side Smiley sad The trouble is lots of our guests have already booked travel and accommodation and I imagine they won't be refunded...

I say think outside the box too. Like renting a house. Lots of people are renting out parts if not their whole house because they need the money. Also check with your local parks and see what you are able to do and what you aren't able to do with the space they have.
