I had to postpone ours 5-2-2020. I live in california and my brother’s family is in italy. They cant come to celebrate d/t lockdown. our venue was nice enough to call me and ask how i was doingSmiley sadim sad, but we are thinking of moving the wedding date to next year, when my brother could officially come (i think he is planning on living the normal life-quitting the navy). I know i would have to do invitations again!I just hope this coronavirus goes away soon! hoping and praying I dont catch this since i work as a RN.Godbless everyone!

We are forced to postpone our wedding also Smiley sad

We really want to get married on the date we chose, so we are planning to have a private ceremony. We've rescheduled our wedding for the following May as a one year anniversary celebration. I'm struggling with the new concept of this idea, because we already planned out the wedding we wanted. So now it's like a vow renewal/marriage celebration.

It's a crazy time. I think everyone will understand why we are doing what we are doing, but I'm still struggling with the change of plans.

Zola is offering free change the dates if you ordered invites through them. Perhaps other companies are doing the same?

I'm wishing you the best! From one May bride to the next.Smiley heart

    Hi Michelle!

Thank you for your kind words! What kind of private ceremony are you having? I’m thinking about that as well, and then having a reception party in October

I'm considering NOT doing the paper StD and Invites all over again. Luckily most of my guests have visited the site at least once, so I have email addresses for almost all guests. I've already sent an email regarding the cancellation, and will send another directing guests to the site with the new dates.

My biggest concern is the cost of hotels and travel for my guests on the new date. I rebooked my flights, and had to pay and extra $120. I haven't yet contracted on hotel room blocks, and hope the original rate will be honored. Finally, my photographer and videographer are booked on my new date, so I need to work a refund and find a new vendor!

    Hi Carla,

I wish I could’ve kept my May 9th date, but Pennsylvania might not be up and running by then. I was thinking of having a private ceremony but don’t know how it will work if all the marriage bureaus are closed :/

We are doing a private ceremony with just two witnesses on our original date, and will celebrate later, using the same plan for the wedding as if COVID-19 never happened.

    Hi Ayanna!

How are you conducting your private ceremony? Is the marriage bureau where you are getting married open? I’m trying to do the same thing but everything is shut down right now 😩

My daughter is supposed to be married on May 3rd. So far, the lodge we rented hasn't cancelled us yet. I think they are waiting and seeing what is happening. They did cancelled all reservations to Mach 31st. If this does happen since we do have dates on things, they will get married on that day with just a couple of people to share it maybe in our back yard or other person's house. Our vendors we hired are great and will reschedule to whenever if necessary. We are only having around 60 people or so at the wedding so not a lot of people to contact to do a new date. Since they did get married on that date, it will still work. A lot of people get married one day and then plan a wedding in the future, so good luck on your special day! It will still be your special day.

Brittany, for now, our wedding is still on (16 May). The venue is still on the green. I have a feeling that the current situation will die down by then. So, I'm giving myself till end of April to decide what I'm going to do.

So sorry to hear!!! I am in the process of waiting to find out if my day is still available with our venue due to the COVID-19 world pandemic. Our venue is a Yacht Club who is in the process of rescheduling a sailing week which potentially falls on our selected date. Crazy to think that weddings in October are even being affected. Good luck to you all, and hopefully you can find a beautiful, manageable and wonderful alternative!

April 11,2020 was our Wedding Date! Decided last night to postpone. To much going on here in NC/ Wedding at Springmaid Beach Myrtle Beach SC. No salons, nail tech, etc. No businesses to open after the 25th until TBD. Touch going on can't process any thing else. To much, can't have over 50 guest must social distance. Just touch to take away from really enjoying the moment. Felt we needed to wait until things calm down some. Reschedule for June 13,2020! Hope all goes well.

I'm disappointed no only for myself but for everyone else who had to reschedule. April 24th not going down for us. My venue will not be doing any further reschedules until the end of March. I'm getting mentally prepared to reschedule for a fall date.

Our wedding was May 24 and our ceremony venue cancelled on us. Because of cost, we did everything digital from the beginning (save-the-dates and invites via paperless post and RSVP via our weddingwire website ). We were able to send a "follow-up" through paperless post and refer people to the website for future updates and to re-do the RSVP when we announce the new date. (We picked a new date the same day our wedding was cancelled but because we are fearful of a second cancellation, we are staying quiet for now.)

It depends on where you are. We are in New York (the new epicenter) and his family has to get here from California. We're about a week away from postponing to October. We'd love to say we'll do something small and then have a bigger reception later, but that solution wouldn't allow for his family to be there. It's so hard having to put it on hold, especially because we'd like to start building a family, but trying to keep in perspective of it all. (that doesn't mean it's happened without tears). My fiancé and I decided we want to have a group call with both sets of parents to make it a final call. The added problem to the equation is our rabbi told us that it's pretty discouraged to delay a celebration/wedding. I'm with you though. I was really hopeful a few weeks ago, and now not so much. Keep me posted with what you decide!

    Good evening,

Our wedding is scheduled for June 6th. I’m trying to wait it out and see what happens over the next couple of weeks. I feel like our Governor is saying one thing and POTUS is saying another. How is everyone feeling about weddings scheduled in June?
