Wedding Program Board Materials

FutureMrsCarlstad, on May 10, 2016 at 10:51 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

I have decided I want to have a Program Board(s), instead of printing individual programs. In my mind, they aren't used for more than 30 minutes and then go in the trash. Our ceremony will be pretty traditional with nothing too out of the ordinary. Chalkboard doesn't really go with our theme, so I am looking for an alternative material! Right now, I'm leaning towards canvas but would like to maybe find something different. Any suggestions?? Has anyone done anything similar?? I attached a picture of the design I'm wanting to use!

The canvas looks nice! I've been thinking about this for my ceremony, as well. I'm not sure I trust my DIY skills for this and am considering using Etsy or a local artist. If you design it on a computer, Staples printing centers can make it the size you want, and you could get a frame and easel from a craft/art supply store. You're totally right; they're used only briefly and end up in the trash!

Mirrors are great for this kind of project. I'm doing something similar for wish you was here to honor TH grandpa and my grandparents

A large frame with a pretty colored paper for the background. You can either have it printed on the paper or you can use a little paint on the glass (the paint will scratch/windex right off) After the wedding you can reuse the frame for your favorite wedding picture.

    ETA: spelling is hard

Following! I also don't want to print programs and have been thinking about one central program.

@Molly, that is adorable! I will have to keep it in mind

@Matt, I was thinking canvas so I wouldn't have to mount in a frame. But I do see that it may be more cost effective to "print" and find a cool frame!

Has anyone tried mounted poster board? I just found a site that lets you print on mounted poster board!

You could make something up using a program and save it as a .jpeg then upload it to a website that turns pictures into canvas prints. You might be able to find a coupon on Groupon or Living Social for a cheap deal.

Also, sign up for Ebates.com if you haven't already done so and use their links to shop. I've already gotten $400 back over the last couple of years just on things I was going to buy online anyway. It really works and isn't a scam.

Such a great idea! If I were you, I'd make a program as an image file and save it in the 300dpi resolution or greater. I know for sure that Fedex/Kinkos will print out large posters.
