Wedding Program Fans

Charalaina , on October 16, 2011 at 9:44 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 23

I am having a destination wedding in Jamaica in May on the beach. I want to create a fan that will serve as a program, keep sake fan for my guest. I have researched vendors;however, some want to charge me $200 to create a template for an order of 60 fans. That is outrageous to me and now I am trying to figure out how I can do this myself. Does anyone know where I can get the paper needed to create a fan as well as the wooden stick. Are there any wholesale dealers? If any of you know of one please send me their contact information or send me the store I can go to as well as the item i need to purschase. Thanking you in advance. Happy Sunday

Michael's has a DIY kit. My friend used them for her prorgams.

Only problem is that it's a set of 50.

Check amazon too. I thought I saw some kits on there.

Did you check Oriental Trading? I'm pretty sure you can get personalized fans there for a reasonable price.

I think you could get nice cardstock from staples and be able to do it yourself. my friend did that. and she hot glued popsicle sticks on the back..so they look like the ones you get at the county fair..it was really neat..ppl likeed them alot.

My fans were a little different, but I just bought a kit at Michaels and we made them ourselves.

Here they are when some were placed at the reception. People used them it was 80 plus degrees. I made 80 of them cost me roughly a dollar a piece or less. but took hours and hours to cut them out.

Dena make sure you order a few extra- they are sold as a set of various sizes. The smaller ones are great for kids.

Future Mrs. Watson. Thanks for your post and pic. Did you use a template for this type of paper? Is it sold in a craft store?

Atrae yours look nice as well. I love the concept. I found a kit online for $50 for a set o $50. that will be my last resort for sure. LOL! I am going to attempt to make my own with all of the ideas and sites you all have provided I can't fail. Thank you all so much. I am soooo loving this forum. Smiley smile

Yes I googled (fan ceremony programs templates) and I printed them out on cardstock paper. Its a pain cutting so much but it will save you a lot of money and they are cute...the sight that came up for my design was www.ayleebits.com. Hope this helps
