For the ceremony? It’s really only needed if you are having a religious/multi cultural/bilingual ceremony that guests need to follow along with.

We're doing a cute "schedule" that goes in our hotel welcome bags, but beyond that skipping all programs. All of our wedding/reception is at one venue, so I don't feel like it's necessary especially since the venue's staff will be guiding people from one area to the next (ceremony ---> cocktail hour space ---> ballroom for dinner/reception)
