Wedding programs

Is anyone going to skip the wedding programs? If so, are you replacing it with something else? Part of me is thinking I should do them but then part of me is thinking do people really care if they get these? My wedding will be less than 30 minutes.

We are skipping print programs, but plan to have the ceremony program on a board for anyone who wants to to view before they sit down.

We are skipping them. We are having a short ceremony and i feel like they will left on the table and forgotten. Nobody cares about times. Bridal party names or info that is usually on programs.
I say skip them and put your money towards something else

I got married in 2017 and I made my own programs... guess who has most of them still, us! I loved them so I don’t mind but most petiole didn’t take them or care to. I would opt for a sign or just skip it.

I feel like they’re so much effort, money, and paper, and I really don’t think they would be missed at all. Most people glance at them for 10 seconds, then have to carry them around for the ceremony and then toss them. Doesn’t seem worth it to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had a traditional Christian ceremony that lasted 30 minutes so I didn’t see the need for it. For a catholic ceremony is nice to have one to follow but half the time I can’t even keep up with programs and they do being a waste in the end. I say skip it.

We were going to have a large sign instead of programs, but I want to make sure all of the guests know we're requesting a social media ban (no posting videos/pictures until we do). I didn't think most of them would pay attention to the sign, and I know they'll read the program while waiting. Also, they were a lot easier, cheaper, and faster to make.

We had them, but we are actors, and we had a swordfight at the reception. So, we wanted to acknowledge our wedding party, as well as our friends in the skit.

If it's a fairly standard ceremony for your region, you don't necessarily need them.

People really don't care about programs, every wedding I have been to programs have been strewn about the pews and makes more of a mess than anything. It is also a waste of money, most people understand where the wedding is and the time from the invitation I am skipping mine. saves time, money and trees Smiley smile

We skipped them, we aren’t doing a Catholic ceremony on the 12th
Also, one of my bridesmaids suddenly dropped out of the wedding 10 days before the wedding! 10 freaking says! So no my program is wrong.

I can see why many weddings would need one. (Catholic weddings, I'm looking at you.) But for mine, which is also really short, I'm skipping. I'm still debating a sign with info perhaps, but that's it. It's a 30 minute ceremony, and 2 hour reception. It's short & simple, I don't think all weddings call for a program. Smiley smile

We had ceremony programs because I am fairly detail oriented and love being able to follow along — I grew up Catholic and I like to be able to follow a program!! Literally nobody but me felt this was important but it made me feel more organized. I also like ours enough to frame it the pressed flowers from our bouquet. That said most of the weddings we’ve been to haven’t had them and they definitely aren’t required.

We did not have a sign with the schedule of events, it would have stressed me out if guests knew we were 5-10 minutes behind schedule at times!! I did think about distributing these to the wedding party the day before just so they would know what to expect.

If you do decide to go for ceremony programs I would recommend choosing a black and white template. Ours were color and way overpriced!

I skipped them! We are having small wedding parties and our daughter is the flower girl. Everyone coming knows who we are. plus the DJ will be introducing everyone at the reception.

    Hi Becky!

We're not doing wedding programs either. It's gonna be a short wedding also so we didn't see the need. Less for me to make lol

We are doing them. But it’s one page front and back... it includes the wedding parties names, times for events for the night and then a thank you for coming/personal note from us.

Skipping the programs too, I agree that they’re not necessary unless you have a complicated ceremony that needs explanation. Save the money for sure!
