Wedding programs

Is anyone going to skip the wedding programs? If so, are you replacing it with something else? Part of me is thinking I should do them but then part of me is thinking do people really care if they get these? My wedding will be less than 30 minutes.

I'm not doing them. My ceremony will be like 15-30 minutes max. They look really nice but they're expensive and I believe, un-necessary. I decided to spend they money on something else. I mean, I would really like charger plates too, they look great but they are not cheap. So I decided that's money better spent on something else. To answer your question, I don't see any need for they, your guests will look at them for a couple seconds then they are going in the trash and never looked at again. Instead of buying programs, I'm saving that money and spending it on something more useful!! Good luck on whatever you decide!!

Definitely skipping programs. There’s no need for guests to know what’s happening next during the ceremony. Also, they end up being a waste of money when so many programs I left behind.

I’ve decided to skip them and do a fun sign at the entrance instead that says something fun if I do it

For a secular ceremony, they don't have much of a point beyond telling people "who's who" in the bridal party, but even then, do people really even remember or care about that information? For a religious or more complicated, longer ceremony, they are helpful to guide people along and help them understand what is going on.

We aren’t doing programs either. Instead we bought a large chalkboard and are going to list the parents and bridal party on that for guests to read as they enter the ceremony space. And then we will have a sign near the guest book listing the times of the big stuff (cocktail hour, first dance, dinner, cake cutting, etc)

We're not doing them. Unless you have a long, complicated wedding, I don't think that there's any reason to have them, overall just a waste of money. People who need them, like people in the wedding party, are just getting timeline information, including ceremony and reception specifics, in a PDF so that they can print themselves if they need it (we're also going to print a few to have at the wedding just in case).

I was thinking of having a sign in like a program but not individual ones for each guest. I'm currently on the hint for somewhere I can get that printed

I am skipping the programs but making a sort of itinerary sign of what times certain things are. Like the cake cutting, the dancing, dinner, ceremony, etc.
