Are wedding programs necessary? I’m on the fence about doing them. Anyone not doing them?

No, they are not necessary. I did not have programs. As a guest, I find programs to be annoying because it is something, that I don't want, that I have to keep up with. Also, after the ceremony they are left behind and thrown away, so they are really a waste of money.

I'm so glad you asked this question; this was my last big task to complete and thought it would be rather pointless since I'm having a reception style wedding. I'm glad to see other brides opt out of programs.

I’ve never even been to a wedding that had them. I don’t see a point in them. Everyone knows what happens at weddings, and you can put a schedule on your wedding website. If it’s important to have a physical one present, you can do a sign instead.

I'm considering putting this information onto our wedding website and providing a QR code that people can scan if interested. Our venue has discouraged handout items for sanitary purposes, and I agree that it's an unnecessary cost.
