Wedding registry

Carla, on October 19, 2021 at 10:04 AM Posted in Registry 0 5
Hey everyone,
Just a quick question. How soon should I be doing a registry? I'm not getting married until May & I thought that I would do it & send it out with my invitations after the new year..But everyone keeps asking me about it now. I was also wondering what is the best way to do a registry & what should I ask for? I'm so lost!!

If you have people asking about your registry, you can definitely create it now! However, you should never include registry information on or with your invitations. Registry information belongs on your wedding website, and word-of-mouth only.

Thank you so much for your advice. I feel like I'm so lost. I really don't even know what to ask for. Did you use this app to create your wedding website?

We did not use WeddingWire for our registry. We used Zola, because it was much easier for us and our guests to navigate. They also offer non-traditional registry options, such as honeymoon funds or the option for guests to purchase you experiences on your honeymoon. As far as what to register for, it is completely up to you! If you need items for the home, you can definitely register for those. Or, if you have everything you need already, you can register for upgrades (new towels, better bedding, nicer dishes or kitchen appliances, etc.). And as I mentioned before, you could also register for a honeymoon fund or register for experiences on your honeymoon that guests can gift you (such as swimming with dolphins, scuba diving, a dinner cruise, a romantic dinner for two at a nice restaurant, etc.).
Once you have registered, you can let anyone know who asks you or your parents where you are registered by word of mouth. If you are sending out save the dates, you can include the wedding website address on them, as well as on your invitations.

Like Cece said, don't include registry info on invitations. Just website and word of mouth. I started my registries through target and bed bath and beyond. They have lists of suggested items that you could use as a guide.

We already live together and have pretty much everything but we're registering for newer/nicer items. New towels, better quality blender, nicer comforter, etc.

Thank you so much. I'm in the same boat we already live together & we pretty much have everything we need but some newer, nicer things wouldn't hurt at all.. lol I think I'm gonna try this registry thing out today & I'm also gonna try this website. I never knew anything about a wedding website.😬 but I'm gonna give it try. Thanks so much for the advice! I feel so overwhelmed sometimes, I never would have thought that so much went into planning a wedding
