My wedding isn't until August 1st 2020, how soon should I create a registery? What things should I be doing already?

Right now you should be booking major vendors. Venue, photographer, caterer, etc. You don't have a date until you have a venue. Your registry doesn't really need to be completed until closer to the wedding, or the shower if someone offers to host one for you. We started our registry right before save the dates went out so that it would be listed on our wedding website, which was on our save the dates. You can start it whenever you want, but doing it this early means that you will have to constantly keep an eye on out of stock and discontinued items. Seems like more of a hassle than it's worth since most people won't use it until 3-4 months before the wedding.

I definitely always believe in booking people and vendors first. Once you have your venue and if that includes the catering already then you can think of other people you need to book like as you said, photographer. Or dj/mc or florist if any and whatever else.

Hi wedding month twin. My wedding is August 9, 2020 and I have booked my venue already and I selected what type of package that I wanted to have at my venue. I have my guest list and I have started my wedding registry (Macy's, target, Zola) already. I started my registry early because it was one of things that I wanted to get out of the way. I planning on looking for my dress, dj, photographer in September of 2019 and take from there.

I think for now, you can focus on booking the venue, vendors, things like that. You still have a good amount of time to think about what you might want on the registry.

A wedding registry is when you and your future husband decide on your gifts that you would like to receive. I did pots and pans, towels and sheets etc. I did for macy’s and they do gift cards where your guests decides to give you cash they can put money on it and you buy what you like. I also did target and Zola. I picked items that were reasonably priced.

This is really a preference. It doesnt hurt to just start making one. Cooking in the kitchen realize you need new knives add then to a registry. Your registry wont be public until you send it to people (I mean it will be depending where you register but no ones going to go looking for your registry a year in advance) . So it doesnt hurt to start adding things as you realize you need things. But you really should be booking major vendors.

Our wedding is on the 9th. I've already started ours at multiple places. I'm still working on them though but we have plenty of time before our save the dates get sent. We plan on sending them out by December and I just want to make sure we get the registry and our wedding website done by then.

I wouldn’t start a registry this far out. Most of the things you add would become unavailable by the time it comes for people to purchase gifts. I can tell you from experience that it’s a pain to go through and replace everything that becomes unavailable. I’d do it a month prior to your bridal shower or a month before your wedding.
