I’m unclear of what the wedding rehearsal is for?

Mostly so everyone knows what to do and when. Your bridal party has the chance to practice walking at the right pace, everyone will know where they should be at each point. It’s so you can all get a feel of your space and basically just feel more prepared so you aren’t going in blind.

Exactly what PP said — we are going to have one but casual - nothing fancy and formal.

I was really confused about it as well when I started wedding planning! I've never been to one and they seemed a little pointless to me, but now I'm eager to have the opportunity to see the whole bridal party together and have them meet and get comfortable with my day-of coordinator. Everyone will show up, laugh, have fun and get the giggles out before the wedding day. Flower girls and ring bearers can practice they're roles to eliminate wedding-day mayhem, bridesmaids and groomsmen can figure out who's walking with whom and can be familiar with the music and the pace walking down the aisle, the officiant can learn their roles (if she or he attends). After the rehearsal, it's customary for the grokms parents or the bride and groom themselves to feed everyone. There's no strict formalities on food here... It can be a fancy restaurant, home cooked, or delivery.
when I started the wedding planning process, I was confused as to why there wasn't more information on what happens at a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Now I realized, that it's because it's more of a social gathering than anything formal. And it's really just whatever you wanted to be.

The ceremony. It's not necessarily needed if it's a straight forward thing but for me I needed it just because the venue is a bit confusing and there were really specific things to take note about the venue and I didn't wanna do it day of
