Wedding reschedule.

Kelly, on September 5, 2017 at 2:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 41

So I went ahead and took the initiative and rescheduled my wedding for a month away on account of hurricane Irma and her uncertainty to her effect on South Florida. It was something I was struggling with because I was so excited but I was so concerned even if the weather isn't expected to to deteriorate until late Saturday night early Sunday I didn't want to risk the safety of any of my guests just so they could come celebrate with me. We have a couple out of town guests as well and it didn't feel right to have them be away from their families and potentially be stuck in Miami. So hopefully the new date I picked out is available at the venue. I have not taken on any extra charges. But I can say now I will definitely purchase wedding insurance. It was always on my to-do list and I never did. I was such a nervous wreck yesterday blue to channel 7 all day long and all it did was create such a panic Within Me. But now I'm at peace because I know I have done the right thing.

Wait, you rescheduled your wedding for a month from now without checking on your venue's availability? Who did you reschedule with? Vendors? I'd be on the phone immediately with your venue before you do anything else.

Your heart sounds absolutely solid -- but, your plan...is that just as solid? My son's getting married on 9/9, and I can't imagine trying to pick up that wedding and dropping it into October. Can we get some of the details Elizabeth mentioned?

I just checked your profile, Kelli. You didn't list a venue, but you did list a caterer with one review (maybe they're new...I don't know). So, it's fair to say that you don't have an all-inclusive venue. Where are you getting married? You seem convinced that you're on the right track with this one month delay, but I'd be seriously worried if you don't even know if the venue, whatever the venue is, is available. Did you speak to the caterer, the florist, the photographer, the DJ, the videographer, and the officiant?

I feel for you, but What are you going to do if the date isn't available? October is very popular. Plus, not trying to be debby downer here but if Miami is a direct hit of a Category 4 hurricane, your venue may not be up and running in a month.

Hey guys. I should have been more clear. Sorry I booked my venue through my catering company which is an all inclusive event planning. It was through discussion with her that we rescheduled. I spoke with her the venue is available. I will be for November 4th. The venue and caterer are very accommodating. I spoke with my out of town guests as well as the bridal party and found a date that we all can attend. Every once is aware of the change.

^Nicely done! Bullet dodged! Way to be a bigger person and put your guests comfort and safety first. I'm sure that wasn't an easy choice to make.

You did so well! Bravo for postponing. I'm in central Florida and Irma is looking seriously like trouble.

Hey girl! Stay safe this weekend! From one Floridian to another, watch the path of the storm close in case there's an evacuation.

Stay safe. Be sure to check if your marriage license will still be good or if you need to reapply.
