Wedding ring arrangement

Mary, on October 29, 2019 at 8:41 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
So I got married this past Saturday. I already knew my wedding ring and engagement ring were not going to be the perfect fit but I love both rings so much and my husband and I love having matching rings. Anyways, I know you are traditionally supposed to wear your wedding ring closest to your heart with e-ring on top, however, it looks more awkward to me then the other way around. The past couple days I’ve been wearing my e-ring on my other finger but I’d like to possibly wear them together. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or a similar ordeal?

I asked my coworkers about this too because I was unsure what type of wedding band to get. One of my coworkers wife apparently uses her wedding band on the left hand and her e-ring on the other hand. It looks like other people do it!

My mom wears her wedding band on the outside because her engagement ring is a little bit too loose and her wedding band keeps the engagement ring from falling off xD. They've been happily married for 30 years. Traditionally the engagement ring is "supposed" to go on the outside to "protect" the wedding band and by extension, the marriage. However, it's an old tradition and if you like it better with the wedding band on the outside, I say go for it.

Ooohhh, I see your problem! You've got two very thick bands fighting for space on your finger! If you're comfortable like that then wear them however it makes you happy! I'm a nurse and once my wedding band is on, I probably won't wear my engagment ring as much (the prongs poke through the gloves)

I believe it is a personal preference. Traditionally speaking, your wedding band should go on first then your e-ring but there is no right or wrong way. If you like your e-ring on first, then keep it that way.

I love your rings, they're so unique! I see the issue but I think that it's fine to do whatever makes you two happiest. I prefer to wear mine the traditional way of band then E-ring, my sister wears hers on two different hands because of the shape of her E-ring.

I got a super thin plain band so I'm wearing that under my e-ring. I think you should wear your rings however you like! Smiley smile
