We splurged. He bought my e ring and I bought the bands! My FH is a tad extra lol so he got some bling in his ring. But I didn't realize solitaires could be pricey, other wise I may have told him I wanted something different.

Both, I think. My ring is a black diamond with a halo, on white gold. It also came with a small contoured wedding band to fit under the engagement ring. Where I think we will be splurging is that I want another band, same as the wedding, to go atop the engagement ring to sort of sandwich the diamond. My FH is a plain man that likes black. So I think I will be getting him black tungsten or something similar, as that is something he would like the most.

Save. We didn't really buy anything inexpensive.

We saved on mine (kept it simple) but we splurged on my FHs. He works as a post carrier, so his ring would be constantly exposed for damage.

Both. Much to my surprise my FH picked out a simple band for himself. I ended up with 3 rings, my engagement, and 2 bands. One band I will wear for work, it has to be plain. The second band I’ll wear when not working.

Save, but we've made a not to make them sentimental. My FH insisted I pick my dream ring, but we still saved huge on it by not going with real diamonds. We did CCs and it is stunning. His ring, which we haven't decided on yet, but I do know we will be making it custom for him. He really has eyed some "nerdy" wedding bands with Star Wars references and things like that, which I love. So I want to make his dream come true too. Smiley smile

Ours was sort of both. He bought my band with the engagement ring to save money but get what I wanted, and I let him pick whatever he wanted but he’s super simple so it was still under $300.

My FH and I have decided to go with cheaper options. Not something so cheap that they look tacky or will fall apart immediately, But something that is money conscious versus breaking the bank or having to finance them.

We will have our tattoos on our ring fingers as well.

Plus my FH wants to make out permanent wedding bands and I love that idea.

Splurged on both. He spent more than I expected on mine, though he expected to spend lots more. But when I saw it, it was obvious to the entire store that was the one.
I splurged on his. And it's not one with a diamond.
This is the only thing that we will be looking at every single day. We wanted to not let a cost get in the way of something we would appreciate every day. We knew I would be settling with another ring and he would just feel meh about a normal band.

I guess it depends on what you define as splurge versus save? My fiancé’s ring was about $750 (10K yellow gold with 1/5 carat of diamonds) and mine was about $1300, but was originally $2,000 (14k yellow gold with 1/2 carat of diamonds). We splurged in my mind, but to others that’s saving.

So my engagement ring came with a wedding band...yay me! My fiance and I are huge nerds, so we got him the One ring from Lord of the rings..cost us about $100 i think?

So we saved on that one! And we didn't pick my ring out specifically because it came with the wedding band, it just happened to be the one i fell in love with. Plus there was no pressure on him to find one i may or may not have liked since i proposed.

Save. My FW chose a Tungsten wedding band, which was inexpensive and my band was a fair price as well.

Splurge! Is. One in a lifetime purchase so buy something you like and that would last forever. I personally don’t like changing meaningful jewelry pieces.

Splurged, for sure. We're going to be wearing these for the rest of our lives, hopefully, so we wanted to love them. Hubs spent waaaay too much on my set -- I think about $5K, and I spent $700 on his ring.
