Wedding rsvp reminder text.

Jazzmine, on April 12, 2019 at 2:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I've seen many discussions about not sending out reminders and such, wait til the due date, which is tomorrow for us. So we still have 115 people that have not sent back responses, and want to send a gentle reminder. Most of the people are more of the younger crowd (millennial's), so any ideas of like a quick text we can send?

I'm worried with the due date being on Saturday, we won't get many post cards back with enough time to get a better count to the caterers. It was my fault, we weren't going with caters at first when the card was printed. Now with the catering we have to have a full count by the 20th, so not much time for all those people to send responses.

We are sending the RSVP link so hopefully they will respond that way.

I made a Facebook post that I set so only invited friends could see that said something along the lines of "just a reminder, RSVPs are due tomorrow. You can RSVP on our website____" and I also included some information about the hotel block because it closed around roughly the same time.

My due date is tomorrow and I still haven't heard from about 80 people. The text I was going to send out on Sunday is:

"Hi! The RSVP date for our wedding was yesterday and we haven't heard from you. We need to get a final count so please let us know if you will or will not be attending by Wednesday, otherwise if we don't hear from you we will have to mark you down as not attending. We hope to see you there."

Thanks for responding. So many of the people are not my friend on facebook, FH side, and we posted something on FB a few weeks ago when were just updating about the planning process, kind of to get people excited and stuff. Would it be bad to do that again?

Do you have a hotel block? I would reach out to the hotel and see if they will give you a list of who blocked rooms- there might be some people on the list that just put their card in the mail super late, and you can hold off a few days to reach out. Others that don’t have a hotel and aren’t local I would reach out to if your deadline is tomorrow.

I'll definitely send something similar to that. Is it okay to put the "otherwise I'd we don't hear from you" part. Dont 't want to make people feel bad, but kind of need to know at that point.

We sent ours the day before it was due because out of the 40 people we invited, none of them RSVP'd 😡
We just simply said something to the effect of: Hello, we are just reaching out to ensure that you receive your invitation to our upcoming wedding. In order to ensure we have everything in place, we would like to know if you are planning to attend and how many seats you will need. Please let us know at your earliest convenience. We look forward to celebrating with you!"
