Wedding Self-improvement

Sandra, on December 30, 2020 at 8:48 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 2 66

Hi guys! I’m 268 days out from my wedding and curious about something. Who here made a cosmetic or lifestyle change of some kind that you were really glad you had done by the time the wedding arrived? Examples like teeth whitening/straightening, a fitness routine, eyelash or hair extensions, quit drinking alcohol a few months before the wedding etc?

That being said, I’m in full support of rocking whoever you already are at your wedding of course! Just curious if anyone was thrilled about some change they made for the wedding. 🙂❤️

I did Smile Direct Club and teeth whitening and I’m sooo glad I did. It was obviously for more than just my wedding, but it was a goal to have the plan completed before then.

I did! I ate healthier, got rid of many processed foods, junk food out of my apartment. Drank only water, ate many salads and fruits/veggies and grilled poultry. Did exercise videos right in my own living room. As a result, I'm stronger, healthier and I've lost 15lbs!!!!.

I’m 108 out of my wedding and approximately 8 months ago I started working out, I do the routines from Popsugar fitness in YouTube and it has been incredible. I’m also a makeup artist and I wouldn’t recommend eyelash extensions, just the faux eyelashes the day of your wedding. Good look! And happy planning 🥰🙌🏻✨

I got my teeth whitened and let my hair grow out a little longer than usual, but that's about it!

Well I'm a person that always has struggled with my weight. I actually lead an active lifestyle for the most part and I do go to the gym often and I walked my dog daily but my struggle is with food. So in a way it was a good thing that my state went into lockdown back in March because it kind of just cause me to cook more and walk my dog more and be a little more strict. So I knew I wanted to be under a certain weight by my wedding day so I basically just diet and exercise. But I hate use the word diet because it's something that I'm going to continue from here on out because I hate to have lost all this weight just to gain it all back you know? The month leading up to my wedding I started a beauty routine of doing a activated charcoal and honey mixture and every other night under my underarms to lighten them because I can have under arms darkened just due to bacteria sweat deodorant which is natural and I bought a lot of Korean face masks from Marshalls and I would do those every other day as well. The week up to my wedding I do the Korean face mask every night. However these are Beauty routines I am continuing even to this day because I just need to realize that sometimes we as busy people we don't take time for ourselves and I realized I can take about a half hour to two keep my skin nice and take care of my body every other day.

I hired a personal trainer a year before my wedding and worth every penny! I loathe working out but love it with my trainer! Portion control and half my meal plates were veggies. If I lost 10lbs I would be pleased- ended up losing 17lbs!!! I also had my teeth professionally whitened and a tanning package. Smart to start early to not have that kind of pressure right before your wedding 👍❤️

I’ve been a lot more consistent with my skin and hair care routines so that my hair and makeup the day of will look as good as possible. I’m trying to lose weight, but unfortunately I’m having trouble being consistent with that. I definitely want to start some kind of whitening process on my teeth but I don’t have tons of money to splurge on that so I’m not sure!

I started cooking a lot during quarantine too! That’s helpful for sure. I totally agree, it’s better to think of it as a lifestyle change more than a diet so that you can stick with it. Easier said than done of course though. 🙈

I just hired one! It’s expensive for sure but awesome to have someone keep you on track both exercise and food wise. I’m excited to see some progress eventually. 💪🏼

Being consistent is the most challenging thing about it I find. I might eat well and exercise for four days, and then be bad for the next three. 🤣

I didn’t realize I had lost weight during this year until I was sorting through clothes. I was telling my fh and he said “your jeans are really baggy, I thought you knew?”
My prob is food. I eat too much, and I’m really impulsive. But working from home and not eating out for lunch at work, plus only going to the store once a week has really changed my eating habits.

I understand. I love eating too and food will always be my down fall. My hubby has the same issue. We both wanted to get our health in order and did well before and after our honeymoon but a little lax around the holidays so January 2nd we are getting back to it.

I am a teacher and I am currently on break. When I am at home even when I had to teach online I had much more time to cook more often and eat out less and I do that over break. During the working part of the school year I have to control my stress eating and desire to go out and not cook more ha ha.

I dropped 15 pounds for my wedding (diet & exercise). I also did Botox & eye fillers for the first time (really creepy feeling but I’m glad I did it, won’t do eye fillers again though). I also used Crest White Strips, got a facial the month before, and did facial sugaring and eyebrow waxing. Honestly, it felt great focusing on my health & appearance for my wedding! I rarely spend money on any cosmetic treatments—nice treat.
