Wedding Shawl Recommendations

Sam, on June 13, 2021 at 6:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Hi Everyone!

I'm in need of suggestions on where to get a wedding shawl/wrap. My FH and I had our first marriage counseling yesterday with our priest. A request was made by the priest that the wedding party is to have their shoulders covered during the ceremony. My dress and a few of my bridesmaid's dresses are sleeveless. I was wondering does anyone know where I can get a wedding shawl for myself and my bridesmaids? I prefer to go in-store to try on myself. Or can anyone recommend a place online that I could try on at home first before committing to purchase? I don't want to spend a ton on one because I'm going to be strictly just wearing it for the church ceremony.

In addition, my dress is strapless with a sweetheart neckline and is a plain Ivory satin dress. Can anyone recommend a certain style that would go well with this style neckline? During my search, I quickly realized there is a TON of wedding shawl options, and it's a bit overwhelming!

Thank you kindly!

Sam

A lace bolero would look nice over your sweetheart. There are a ton of them on Etsy (not ideal if you wanna try them on) but lots of options/visuals that would look amazing on satin.

David’s Bridal has a good selection of boleros and capes that will go with most gowns.

I was very worried about being cold on my wedding day so I was looking for a cashmere wrap that I could wear later as an oversized scarf, but couldn't find one anywhere.

I highly recommend being open-minded in where you look - obviously big department stores will have pashmina/scarf options in their accessory departments, but in the end I found a cashmere throw rug/couch blanket on sale from west elm and it's perfect! I had my new initials embroidered on it!
