Wedding Shoes... Closed or open toe?

Maya, on November 14, 2021 at 11:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hello all,

I'm wearing a full length dress at my wedding. I'm thinking closed toe shoe, but I am finding a much higher quantity of cute open toe shoes. I don't know why, but the idea of a full length dress with opened toe shoes is strange to me. Any brides out there getting married in full length dresses with opened toe shoes and love the look you've got going? Tell me why this is the way to go.

When are you getting married? I would say that anytime between May- September open shoes would be great and actually may make you more comfortable in the heat! But this is coming from a beach bride who had her toes in the sand! Either way enjoy it and chances are you will kick your shoes off after a couple drinks!

I wore open toed sandals under my floor length gown. No one will see your shoes. Wear what what find comfortable. Open toed shoes in full length dresses in very common.

I find open toe shoes to be more comfortable because there is less pressure on your toes. I wore open toed shoes with all of my outfits.

But as Hannah stated no one will see your shoes with a full length gown.

I don't think open shoes would look odd with a full length gown, but I will say I rarely wear them as I tend to find that they rub/cut more because what little fabric holds them to the foot is bearing all the pressure.

So, definitely a case of what you personally prefer.

I've been bouncing around on this too. I had originally purchased sandals, but have seen a pair of super cute ballet flat type shoes. However, while my dress is full length, its spaghetti strap with a slit, so it seems more summery to me, so I worry closed toe shoes would seem odd.. Undecided! lol

My bestie got married in November with a full length gown. She wore open toed block heels because that's what was comfiest! So find what's cutest and comfiest 😊

I'm not a fan of open toe shoes. I think closed toe look more classy and elegant. Smiley smile

Oh yes, I think the slit changes things for you. My dress has no slit and I feel like naked toes peeking out from underneath a full length dresses seems odd. But I think if you'll be showing some leg with a slit, then open toes shoes is less weird.
