Wedding shoes-CONVERSE :)

I cant walk in heels. Last time I tried was my highschool graduation, and i broke my toe haha. So our entire wedding party is wearing converse "chucks." Anyone else wearing shoes "out of the norm" for their wedding? Post your pics!!

Personally, i don't like sneakers with formal wear, and the days of it being trendy are way over. If you asked me to buy them, I'd drop out.

@celia and I understand that. If any of them had said that, I would compromise.

Oh I'm so sure they are super excited to buy expensive shoes for your wedding.

I just love when my friends tell me what shoes to buy when I already paid for a dress that I will only wear once.

If someone doesn't like them or doesn't want to buy them, they probably feel uncomfortable about speaking up. I don't like sneakers with formal wear and I don't like Converse, but I would feel bad to be the only person who doesn't want to go along with everyone else. Did you speak to them individually about this? Or was it a massive group message in which a few people agreed right away?

@K.M. And like I said y'all don't know my life, or my friends and family. You can talk all day about what I "should" do but its not gonna work. Bride or not, these people are NOT afraid to tell me no. So if that was the case we'd be thinking of a plan b shoe, but that's not the case, so...I'll be sure to post pics of our awesome foot wear when the day comes!!

Also, I'm currently dealing with a similar situation. I'm a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding this June. She's expecting us to buy these ugly silver sparkly heels. I hate them and will never wear them again. She's my best friend and I don't feel comfortable enough to tell her that we shouldn't have to pay for the shoes especially since everyone else seems on board. Don't do this to your bridesmaids.

Also, you have over year left. You shouldn't even have a bridal party yet, let alone be forcing them to buy shoes.

@CMC It was individually. I talked to my BM, and he talked to his GM. We went over what we were wearing, and other details. Everyone agrees Smiley smile

@FutureMrsBanks I'm not doing a dress we are both wearing tuxes. I was trying to get a woman's tux but they just didn't fit me right so I am having mine altered a little. Her's fits her perfectly. The theme is rainbow so we got vests, ties and pocket things in different colors. The shoes were just a natural next step. I can't wait to see the pictures of your awesome foot wear!

I feel like itd be worse to have them wear potentially ugly or uncomfortable heels/"fancy shoes". In this situation they get to have comfy shoes that they can choose and get to rewear constantly due to the casual aspect of them. Also you can find these shoes just about everywhere for many different prices. I got a pair for less than $20 brand new due to sales and coupon. That was 3 years Go and they still look and feel great

Here goes the whole "why do you have a bridal party already" comments. I have one already, because I wanted to. Its my wedding. You do your wedding how you want. I'll do mine how I want. So far I'm doing great on planning. Maybe not doing everything the way its "supposed" to be done could help you too?

I'm wearing Toms. I can't walk I'm heels either and I generally live in Toms, so it was an easy choice. I told the bridesmaids they are welcome to wear whatever they want.

My sister gave us a choice of a specific pair of heels or flats when she got married. Everyone chose flats except one of our other sisters who then guilted me into wearing the heels for she wasn't alone. I got into an accident two weeks before the wedding. I may have been really injured from that and harbor alot of terrible feelings towards the other person involved, but I've always said that on the bright side it got me out of wearing heels lol
